Research Fellow

Part - time fixed term post until 30 November 2019

An opportunity is available for a Research Fellow to join an expanding team of multi-disciplinary researchers within
the Health Services and Policy (HS&P) research group in the Department of Health Sciences. We are looking to
recruit a researcher who will contribute to the continued success of the group. The successful candidate will
support the HS&P research groups activity by initially working on the NIHR funded I-WOTCH project
(http://www.nets.nihr.ac.uk/projects/hta/1422404), and may be offered the opportunity to work in a number of
other research projects of similar nature involving trial- and model-based economic evaluations. Our current
project portfolio has a strong element of cost effectiveness analysis, decision analytic modelling, analysis of
individual patient data, uncertainty, Bayesian methods for evidence synthesis and value on information analysis.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day conduct of research studies within the HS&P research group, and carrying
out modelling and data analysis. Interested applicants should have relevant experience and have knowledge of
economic evaluation methods, decision analytic modelling and quantitative methods. You will contribute to all
aspects of the study, including the development of research methods, and dissemination of research results. You

will have good communication and strong quantitative skills.


Applications are invited from individuals with a Masters degree in health economics, economics, statistics, or
operational research. Experience of research in a health related context is desirable. You will have good
interpersonal skills, the proven ability to work quickly and productively, and the ability to work co-operatively with
others.

Salary and Terms
Salary will be 31, 076 - 38, 103 per annum within grade 6 of the Universitys single pay spine. This is a part-time
(22.2 hours per week) post until 30 November 2019.
