COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The Psychological, social and cultural bases of contemporary

Philippine conditions with emphasis on population, social change,
and rural development and basic population education.
At the end of the course, students are expected to evaluate
critically and intelligently contemporary condition of Philippine
society; discuss problems and issues happening around; apply the
practical aspects of the subject in their everyday live; understand
the importance and influence of the different concepts, theories,
approaches and discipline to their everyday lives.

CLASS PARTICIPATION:

Students are required to participate in class discussions and group

works. They are expected to read the topics, analyze the issue and
make a clear and concise comment.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: Students may join ECAs which they feel suited for them. But if
they missed class, they are responsible for making up missed works
and lessons. They may be excused from class upon proper notice.

VIII. COURSE POLICY INFORMATION

Attendance / Lateness Policy: A student is considered absent from a class if he/she is not
present within 15 minutes of the scheduled 2-hour class.
Policy for Late Work: A grace period will be announced by the instructor as to when will be
the deadline for submission of requirement/work outputs for submission. In case of
submitting such requirement/work output after the grace period, a specific grade shall be
given based on the set assessment guide.
Policy for Missed Test: No special examination will be given to a student except for
Midterm and Final Examinations on the condition that his/her excusable absence is
authorized through an approved excuse slip signed by the OSA Director, in case of
representation of his/her recognized organization.
In case of absence due to sickness and unavoidable cause, special exam shall be given upon
acquiring on absence slip from the Office of the Guidance Counselor with the Certification
of Illness by a physician, parent/guardian and upon payment of necessary fees.
Policy for Academic Dishonesty: Student caught practicing dishonesty in any form will be
subjected to the policies and regulations of the College as determined by the Office of
Student Affairs.
