Changes to the maintenance programme in Scania Multi

Background
This TI contains a summary of the major changes to the maintenance programme. The following products are affected by the changes:
inspection form, preface, inspection instructions, standard times and spare parts for maintenance.

Instructions and Preface to PGRS

series
The PGRS series has a new preface to the maintenance programme and a completely new set of
instructions. These can be found in Scania Multi
and in the TIL under the PGRS series vehicle
type in group 00-17.

Changes

The maintenance forms and associated items are

shared with the PGRT series.

The maintenance item Exhaust gas aftertreatment Check sulphur pollution has been discontinued for truck and bus. Scania is working
to improve and to optimise the maintenance
programme continuously by, among other
things, reducing the amount of work involved.
As part of this work, the Exhaust gas aftertreatment, Checking sulphur pollution function has
been assessed and a decision has been taken to
remove the function from the maintenance programme. The function has also been removed
from SDP3.

All documentation relating to maintenance can

be accessed as usual via the Maintenance button
in Scania Multi.

The gas quality requirements for industrial
engines with gas are now included in the
Fuel section.
Updated information on factory oil filling in
the Transmission section for the following
components: transfer gearbox, GRSOH901R (ZF Transmatic), Opticruise longitudinal stroke damper, ZF portal axle.
Updated oil volume for central gear RBP735
in the Transmission section.
Clarified information about oil grades for
power steering and tag axle steering in the
Chassis, Oil grade for components section.

Updated structure for the preface. Interval
tables for change of engine oil are divided
according to fuel and emission class.
Updated oil change intervals for a number of
engine types. Several engine types have been
given longer intervals, others shorter.
Oil change intervals are now specified per
engine type for biodiesel engines.
More approved oil grades have been added
for Euro 6, XPI engines with biodiesel operation.
Oil grades ACEA E5 and DHD-1 have been
discontinued.
