    Title SOCIAL STUDIES FOCUS: BEHAVIOR & ATTENDANCE

    TIER III- Intensive Instruction & Intervention

    • Referral to Deans, Counselors, PSA or PSW as needed

    TIER II- Strategic or Supplemental Instruction & Intervention

    • Behavior Buddies (send a student to another teacher as needed)


    • Detention with the teacher
    • Phone calls/meeting with parents

    TIER I- Core Instruction

    • Use of Connect-ed to call parents


    • Clear classroom expectations posted and enforced (ex: “Responsible Student”)
    • Enforce dress code
    • Enforce technology policy (no iPods, no Cell Phones, game systems, etc)
    • All rules and expectations will be clearly written into the syllabus
    • Students dismissed by the teacher , not the bell.
