In order to build upon our staffs knowledge and organization in the new program, please fill out
this survey regarding the current needs of todays students.

Professional Development Meeting Agenda

Outcome:
The school faculty will work together to grow in professional development by acquiring
knowledge and improving the efficiency of instruction.

Learning Goals:
1. The school faculty will discuss the meaning of professional development and its
components.
2. The school faculty will determine achievable professional development goals and
develop an action plan.

Agenda Items:

The meeting will begin with an open discussion format. (15 minutes)
o Topic: Defining professional development
The meeting will continue by analyzing what ways the school exhibits professional

development as well as areas needing of improvement.


o The staff will discuss in pairs their ideas (5-10 minutes)
o Each pair will present their ideas to the group. (10-15 minutes)
The meeting will conclude by developing an action plan to strengthen professional

development. (15 minutes)


Total meeting time: 1 hour

Question & Answer Session

Following the meeting there will be an open Q & A discussion.


Review questions to discussion include:

1. What are the main areas of improvement that the staff is interested in
working towards as a whole?
2. How can all teachers work to incorporate reading instruction into their
content area instruction?
3. In what ways will the school staff strengthen professional development?
