A good language learner is someone who is ready to work independently and take charge of developing aspect of their own learning. "The good language learner is realistic. She knows that it will take time and effort to become proficient in English, and that there will periods where she does not seem to be making much progress" (Shoebottom, 1996). There are many characteristics that define a good language learner:
