Luther N Webster This Indenture made the Eleventh day [of] October in the year of our
To Lord one thou[sand] Eight hundred and twenty three between
James Thorington Luther N Webster of the first part and James Thorington of the
[sec]ond part witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of twenty
dollars to them in hand p[aid] by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby filed &
acknowledged hath granted bargained sold remised released al[iened] and confirmed and by these
presents doth grant bargain sell re[mise] release alien and confirm unto the said party of the second pa[rt]
in his actual possession now being and to his heirs and assigns [for]ever all that certain piece or parcel of
land situate & being in the Township of Bloomfield and county of Oakland Michigan Ter[ritory] being part
of the south west quarter of section fifth Township T[wo] North Range 11th East beginning at a
stake standing on the South East corner of said Quarter Section Thence running ten rods West
Thence north to the center of said section line Thence running East [?] rods Thence north to the
center of said section line Thence running East [?] rods Thence south to the place of beginning
containing ten acres be the same [more or] less together with all & singular the hereditaments &
appurtenances thereunto belong[ing] or in any wise appertaining & the reversion & reversions remainder
& remainders receipts issues & profits thereof and all the estate right title interest claim & demand
whatsoever of the said parties of the first part either in law or equity in & to the above bargained premises
with the said hereditaments & appurtenances to have & to hold the said parcel of land to the said party of
the second part his h[eirs &] assigns to the sole & only proper use benefit & behoof of the said party of
the second [part] his heirs and assigns forever that the said parties of the first part for themselves and
their heirs doth covenant & agree that they [the said?] and lawful owners of the above mentioned
premises with the appurtenances and that they have good right full power and lawful authority to grant
bargain and sell the same And the said parties of the first part for themselves and their heirs doth
covenant grant bargain promise and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and
assigns against all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the whole or any part of the
above mentioned and described premises to forever warrant and defend

Oakland County } Be it remembered on the twenty 26 [sic] day of November in the year of
our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty three before me the undersigned a Justice of the Peace
in and for the said county personally appeared Luther N. Webster who executed the within indenture and
who acknowledged that he had executed the same voluntarily and without compulsion for the purposes
therein specified and set forth

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my at Bloomfield in the said county and territory the day and
year first above mentioned or above written

Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty three before me the undersigned a Justice of the Peace in
and for the county of Oakland came the within named Sally Webster wife of the within named wife of the
within named [sic] Luther N Webster to me known who being examined by me separate and apart from
her said husband and acknowledged that she signed sealed and delivered the within instrument as her
voluntary act and deed without any fear threats or compulsion all which I certify according to the Statute
