Lesson 2: The Authentic and the Fallen He & She

I. The Bible and Homosexuality:

Slide 1: Bible The Bible is the most authoritative source in determining the origin of homosexuality. It
deals with mans nature and behaviour.

Slide 2: FALL The Bible confirms that the nature of man has not changed since the FALL.

Slide 3: Creation Man have been created as perfectly human being. (Gn. 1:31 God saw all that he had
made, and it was very good.) - yet not as a robot - but as a being designed to be able to make choices,
which thereby allowed him to distort(to twist/change) his perfection.

Slide 4: Adam and Eve-marriage and family pictures God from the beginning have created human
beings (male and female) who are designed to join for life-long marriage, and placed a priority on the
family, and provided laws, as needed, for its health and preservation and that of society, while failure from
moral standard results from failure to abide by them.
II. The Nature of Man
Slide 5: Sin in the garden In the beginning, man disobeyed the creator which resulted to negative
stewardship of his creation.

Slide 6: Consequence of sin-sickness, suffering, chaos and death pictures The sin of disobedience
resulted to physical decay, suffering and natural death of the living creatures. It also resulted to the
nature of man having a strong liking to sin. However, this does not determine that a man must practice a
certain sin, nor does it justify man giving into this attraction to sin, as God also gave man ability to resist
sin.
III. The Physical effects of sin and the Gods laws

Slide 7: Gods laws (ruler) Along with the physical effects of sin, like diseases, God also made laws on
morality regarding conscience and clean living.

Slide 8: Ten Commandments A formal body of law was given through Moses, which God gave to man.
(Ex. 20-The 10 Commandments ; Dt. 4:8,9-Gods body of laws;
Slide 9: Unlawful sexual relations Lv. 18 Unlawful sexual relations[close relatives to have sexual relations
& same sexual relationships]; Gal. 3:19 [the law given to all]) Addition laws include ceremonial laws which
the New Testament reveals.

Slide 10: The Laws applicable and not in our times

a) OT laws that are not applicable anymore --The law on food in the OT In the OT (Leviticus 11:1)
1. Eat only animals that has a divided hoof and that chews the cud.
2. Eat any that have fins and scales. 3. Birds are not to be eaten 4. All flying insects that walk on all four
legs may not be eaten. But with 4 legs with joint legs that hop may be eaten.
b) But this law was changed by Jesus in the New Testament:

Slide 11: food clean NT Mark 7:18-19 Jesus declared all foods clean. Acts 10:15-God has made food
clean.

Slide 12: ceremonial laws c) Ceremonial laws not applicable anymore These are shadows of about to
come the reality is Christ.
d) Some of OT laws that still apply to us today

Slide 13: Love your neighbour 1) Jesus came to fulfil the OT laws and even commanded some to be
fulfilled. --Matthew 5:17- Jesus said I have come to fulfil the law of the prophets --Matthew
22:39-Love your neighbour as you love yourself. As mentioned in Leviticus 19:18Love your neighbour
as you love yourself. 2) Laws on sexual immorality still apply on us today. And there is a strong emphasis
on godly relationships. --1 Corinthians 5:1 sexual immorality condoned by Paul

Slide 14: Group activity: Ask the 3 groups to find the verses assigned to them in the Bible and make them
answer the question given to each of the group. 1. Group 1: Discovering Gods original design for the
male and female through the scriptures: What is Gods original design for the male and female? As
regards homosexuality, from the beginning of the Bible and throughout, it consistently teaches that God
only sexually joined opposite genders together, sanctifying them in marriage, having created men and
women uniquely compatible and complementary. Check and study the verses: a) Gn. 2:18-24-It is not
good for man to be alone. b) Mt. 19:4 The creator made male and female. c) 1Cor. 11:8-12 man and
woman created for each other.
2. Group 2: -Discovering Gods given laws on mans sinful nature through the scripture: What are Gods
law on sin/unlawful sexual relations and their punishment mentioned if any?
In contrast to what God had ordained by design and decree, homosexuality is one of many sins which
are a result of man yielding to his sinful nature, and is a form of fornication, although a most worse kind.
The prohibition of it is given along with sexual relations with other species. Let us discover! Check and
study the following verses: Group 2 -Set 1 (idea/content about the verses are written for your guide) a)
Leviticus. 18:23-and is clearly condemned wherever it is manifestly dealt with. b) Leviticus. 18:22 -You
shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female.]; c) Lv, 20:13 [A strong dislike man having sex with a
man]; d) Mk. 7:21[sexual intercourse]; Group 3- Set 2 e) Rm. 1:27 [man and woman abandoned their
natural function-meaning man should sleep with women and women should lie with man not of the same
sex]; f) 1Cor. 6:9 [do not inherit the kingdom of God-fornicators, effeminate, homosexuals] g) 1Tim.
1:10-immoral man, homosexuals, and kidnappers and liars, whatever is contrary to sound teachings.
After the search make each group report their findings.

Conclusion: Slide 15
1. Man was made in Gods image but was stained by sin and made man disobedient and selfish fulfilling
his own desire.
2. Among those sins is the practice of homosexuality.
3. Moral laws are still applicable to us todayunlawful sexual relationships. 4. Homosexuality and activity
together with the other sins condemned and forbidden by God. 5. But the good news is we there is
forgiveness and redemption in Christ. 6. Not just the homosexuals, but all of us, we may have sins in our
lives that we pet or struggle with let us surrender them to God and ask him to forgive us and redeem us
from this/these sins. Ask a Khaleesis to pray for forgiveness and surrender.
Bible verse: Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
