Accountable for all retail operations, Inventory Control, work scheduling, health-safety, merchandising management.

Kmart Top Gun District Manager 2012, 2013


Reduced shrink from 1.16 to .50 over three years. Accomplished by setting clear expectations, persistent and
consistent follow up, and total accountability.
Led and facilitated Store Managers Academy. Facilitated New Store Managers in a classroom setting, and practical
application before they could be certified to manage a store.

District Manger Wal-Mart. Inc 1999-2005. Manage a $300 M budget, responsible for P&L and 2000
employees in seven retail stores. Oversee inventory control, operations management, employee training/
development, work scheduling, health & safety, merchandising management and employee management

Led and facilitated the expansion of the 1st Wal-Mart store in the city of Chicago. Heavy opposition from local
politicians, UFCW and national leaders existed. Personally met with local officials, local residents and national
leaders such as Jesse Jackson. Campaigned aggressively to tell the story of Wal-Marts role in community
improvement, including meeting with editors from the major newspapers and Mayor Daley.
