I believe that caregivers should be included in their child/children's growth, and I


strongly believe that there is a significant difference between including parents in the
lives of their children and simply informing them about their children's day. I will
strive to not just notify parents of how their childs day was in various childcare
settings, but also make sure I am doing what I can so that the caregivers can feel
included in thei child/childrens daily practices, even when they cannot be present. I
believe that this true inclusion will lead to trusting relationships with the parents and a
more team like approach to working with children.

I feel that I already do a good job in regards to advocating for children and early
learning. I truely understand the importance of the early years and my passion can
been seen both inside and outside of the workplace. In my oppinion, often the
educational profession can be viewed by others as less important that it is. I believe
that educators should be respected for their vital role in childhood more so than they
currently are. I feel that with further professioanl learning I could better advocate for
the profession as a whole.

I believe that I do a good job in relation to maintaining good communication with


caregivers, however, in some situations (ie; when parents are busy/less involved) it
can be difficult. I believe with further professional learning, I can develop my skills in
their area even more. I believe that caregivers should be included in their child/
children's growth, and I strongly believe that there is a significant difference between
including parents in the lives of their children and simply informing them about their

I believe that I am fairly attuned to the needs of children and families, and I do my
best to advocate on their behalf. I feel this area could use imporvement maily because
in some circumstance it can be difficult to identify the needs of certain individuals.
With continual learning and modifications in my practice I can better develop my

I believe that i continually establish professional and caring relationships with the
chilren I encounter. In regards to the caregivers, I find that often the relationship is
more professional than caring. I believe that caregivers should be included in their
child/children's growth, and I strongly believe that there is a significant difference
between including parents in the lives of their children and simply informing them
about their children's day. Sometimes this can be a difficult thing to do, however, with
new proessional learning, I believe that I can make the caregivers can feel included
in thei child/childrens daily practices and through that, build a caring relationship.

I find that I work mostly with individuals with developmental differences. This makes
care and education in large group settings less ideal due to the fact that care is
required more on the individual level. With continual professional learning, I can
aquire new skills in regards too teaching and caring for larger groups.

As an educator, I value nature and enjoy fostering learning experiences that allow
children to experience the wonders of the outdoors. Often I find that this can be an
issue due to societal norms in regards to outdoor and risky play. I strive to break these
barriers and provide children with vital outdoor learning experiences. I can do this

educate caregivers on the importance of nature in the early years.

I am open to all cultures and ethnicities, however, I would like to learn more about
how to include various cultures in education in a non- cliche way. I believe that guest
speakers of different culture groups are a great start, but I recgonize that I require
some futher learning to develop new ways of being culturally and ethnically inclusive
in all the child care settings that I work in.

I feel that I handle confidentiality very well. I do not disclose any information about
children or their families to those not authorized. However, I would like to learn how
to better handle situations when an individual is requesting information that I cannont
give. Sometimes simply saying "Im sorry, I cannot share that information" doesn't
work out well.
