the messages. This is an important job.

gives the orders most of the time. Without him, the
boys cannot be good detectives.

of a hotel lift boy. The thief tells him that he wants
to leave the hotel at eight oclock the next morning.
When they learn this, the boys can make their plans
for the morning.

Paul first sees Emil, he is rude about his clothes. They
almost fight. Later, the Captain says to Emil, Youre
not as silly as most people from the country. Again,
