CRIME FILE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Abstract
The project titled as Crime File Management System is a software application. This
software is for police station which provides facility for reporting crimes, complaints, FIR,
charge sheet, prisoner records, show most wanted criminal details, law and order details as well
as court details. It also tracks police station constable details, police information, attendance
details, salary report, over time, etc. This Software Package allows Police Departments to store
all the details related to the department and use them whenever necessary.
The aim of proposed system is to develop a system of improved facilities. The proposed
system can overcome all the limitations of the existing system. The system provides proper
security and reduces the manual work. The existing system in police station has several
disadvantages and many more difficulties to work well. The proposed system tries to eliminate or
reduce these difficulties up to some extent. The proposed system helps the police station
employees to work user friendly.

Synopsis
The software to be produced is on Crime File Management System. The main
authority is given to the Admin. Admin provides unique username and password for each
employee through which the user can login and perform the activities given by the Admin. As
soon as a new employee joins the company, the Admin has the right to add his employee details
which includes name, date of birth, basic salary, etc. Admin assigns tasks to each employee. Next
is the payroll module. The system automatically generates salary for each employee depending
on their workdays, their work status including, adding their basic salary for the overtime work
they have done. Next is the main module of the system that is the Crime module. In this all the
crime information will be stored in the database. First complaint details will be added in the
system, and then Station employee checks complaint is related to crime or law and order. If it is
crime it goes to crime record. As soon as this task is completed FIR charge sheet will submitted
to the court. This Software Package allows Police Departments to store all the details related to
the department and use them whenever necessary.
The main modules in this project include users and administrators. The modules are:

Introduction
The project titled as Crime file Management is a web based application. This software
provides facility for reporting online crimes, complaints, missing persons, show most wanted
person details mailing as well as chatting. Any Number of clients can connect to the server. Each
user first makes their login to sever to show their availability. The server can be any Web Server.
An SMTP Server must be maintained for temporary storage of emails and chat jar files for
enable the chatting facilities. Crime File System is a system used to report crimes. This project
will be done using VB 6.0 as front end, and MS Access as back end. It can used to report crime.
This project is mainly useful for police stations. This system will help to manage all the activities
in a police station using computers. Currently all the works are done manually, by computerizing
all the activities inside a police station can be managed easily and effectively.

Existing System
In the Existing system the details of particular information about the police stations in
our state are gathered, the existing system has more workload for the authorized person. But in
the case of Proposed System, the user can registered in our site and send the crime report and
complaint about a particular city or person.

Time consuming.
Consumes large volume of pare work.
Needs manual calculations.

 No direct role for the higher officials.

Damage of machines due to lack of attention.
To avoid all these limitations and make the working more accurately the system needs to be
computerized.

Proposed System
The aim of proposed system is to develop a system of improved facilities. The proposed
system can overcome all the limitations of the existing system. The system provides proper
security and reduces the manual work. The existing system has several disadvantages and many
more difficulties to work well. The proposed system tries to eliminate or reduce these difficulties
up to some extent. The proposed system will help the user to reduce the workload and mental
conflict. The proposed system helps the user to work user friendly and he can easily do his jobs
without time lagging.

Advantages of Proposed SystemThe system is very simple in design and to implement. The system requires very low
system resources and the system will work in almost all configurations. It has got following
