Small things can make a big difference.

The success of our business has been testimony to our belief that small things really do make big
differences.
Every label holds a unique brand story, and for 30 years we have been helping brands tell those
stories, continuing this proud legacy by perfecting every detail.
Now a global company with an increasingly diverse range of products and services, we enable our
customers to protect their brand equity and improve their logistic and supply chain management, all
through a seemingly simple label.
Throughout our growth, however, we have always put our customers first. Our global network of
capability and talent is more powerful than ever, yet our core values have not changed a bit from
when we were only 10 people working in a small warehouse office in 1985. We still have the same
solutions-driven passion to be the best in what we do, and together, we strive for perfection every
step of the way.
This is our story.

"The SML family includes multiple companies, all working together for
the good of our customers and colleagues."
From just 10 people working in a warehouse office in 1985, SML Group has grown dramatically, both
organically and through the acquisitions of over a dozen companies worldwide, providing a range of
international talent and expertise.

ENVIRONMENT
"We work across the world, meaning it is our responsibility to consider the
environment in everything we do."
At SML we believe that being environmentally sustainable is about more than just choosing the right
materials. Its a total approach, applicable throughout the packaging supply chain, from concept
design to the sampling and approval process through to the selection of raw materials, printing,
converting and distributing of your products.
Simply put, at SML, being environmentally sustainable means all our designing, sourcing,
manufacturing and distribution methods are as ecologically sound as possible.

Reduced Waste
From the initial design process, products can be made more efficiently to eliminate unnecessary
components, reduce inputs such as water and chemicals, and minimize carbon footprint.
We incorporate designs that utilize as much of a selected piece of material as possible to offer more
compact and simplified products and packaging, reduce waste, maximize container storage and
lower logistics costs.

Smarter Logistics
Our advanced information management and knowledge-based systems allow us to
support more sustainable and efficient processes across the entire supply chain, both
lowering costs and reducing environmental impact. Additionally, our global
manufacturing sites are closer to key garment manufacturers, helping to decrease
distribution distances and reduce waste from transportation.

Sustainable Materials
We continually develop our sustainability offerings, with a dedicated team researching
the latest in quality alternatives to traditional techniques. Our offering includes easilyrecyclable materials that enhance product durability and longevity, suit functionality, and
allow for low-impact maintenance.

Responsible Sourcing
We require that all of our suppliers, manufacturers and contractors provide
independently verified certifications to ensure compliance with both our customers high
standards and our own strict responsible sourcing policies.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS

"We go further to work with the environmentnot against itto create

outstanding environmentally friendly products."
We offer a wide range of sustainable materials that provide environmental, social and
economic benefits throughout an entire product's lifecyclefrom the extraction of raw
materials to final disposal.
Customers aiming to maximize the protection of consumer health and the environment
can consider the following sustainable materials:

Bamboo
Bamboo is hypoallergenic, absorbent, fast drying and naturally anti-bacterial, while both
extremely durable and soft as silk at half the price. It grows quickly at 10 times the yield
of cotton with less input of water pesticides and fertilizers.

Coconut Palm
Coconut palms grow rapidly, producing fruit after only 5-6 years, and only the oldest
trees are harvested. Their wood is also cheaper than many other products available,
such as mahogany and other types of heavy woods.

Cork
Cork is extracted without permanently harming the tree, there are many hectares of cork
in the world, which makes it an abundant resource that will regenerate far faster than
humans can use it. Due to its softness and bounce-back, cork is good at slip resistant.
Cocoon

Cocoons are very light yet tough composites known for their fine, smooth and elastic
properties. They are also non-perishable and climate-smart agricultural products with no
need for chemical-based synthetic processing.

Hemp
Hemp is warm, breathable, pest-tolerant and easy to grow, producing much more fiber
per square meter and less water input than cotton. Its rich and supple texture gives
tremendous durability, strength and versatility.

PET Plastic
PET plastic is an environmentally friendlier way to give fabrics a soft, smooth look and
feel. while reducing the demand for non-renewable fossil fuels used to source the raw
materials for normal plastic production.

Organic Cotton
Organic cotton is softer, more breathable and higher quality than non-organic cotton. It
is grown GMO-free without the use of chlorine bleach, synthetic dyes or any synthetic
agricultural chemicals.

Recycled Polyester
Recycled polyester offers excellent quality for less energy than required by virgin
polyester. The recycled material preserves the virgin oil needed to manufacture new
fibers and is without limitation in its application.

Recycled Glass

Glass can be recycled indefinitely without loss in quality or purity, reducing related air
and water pollution required to manufacture new glass.

Vegetal-Tanned Leather
Vegetal-tanned leather is non-allergenic and is made without the use of heavy metals
found in chrome-tanned leather. Vegetal-tanned leather reduces water pollution and
offers natural, earth tone colors that can then be dyed.

FSC paper
All FSC products are acquired from sources that adhere to local, regional and global
laws regarding harvesting and transportation, respecting the health and environment of
indigenous species and peoples.

Soy-based ink
Soy-based inks are able to produce brighter, more vibrant colors using less ink and
fertilizers than petroleum-based inks, making them a more cost-effective ink solution.
Soy inks can also be removed more easily for recycling.

Water-based ink
Water-based Inks do not contain PVC or phthalates and do not require solvents for
cleaning equipment. They contain fewer oil-based chemicals and are less harmful,
making them safe for use with underwear, swimwear and baby clothes.
