Scope :
This Method Statement defines the procedures to be followed for the supply and Installations of
Sanitary Wares.
PURPOSE:
The Purpose of this method statement is to ensure that correct materials are installed and agreed
procedures are implemented during work execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Manager will have the overall responsibility on the Project execution, quality
and safety. Also he will maintain the planning progress and coordination of works with
Main Contractor.
Site Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the day to day activities on site,
materials, drawings, testing & commissioning an allocation of Departmental resources to
the work site.
Charge-hand will be directly responsible for the day to day jobs on site, for assigning
work to the technicians or any other workers assigned to his area.
QA/QC Department will be overseeing the quality requirements and quality control
measures for the project in coordination with the Project Mechanical Engineer as outlined
in the Quality Manual.
Safety Officer will be responsible for the Health and Safety aspects on site as per the
approved Safety Procedures.
METHOD OF WORK
Sanitary Ware Materials
Water Closets
Wash basins
Kitchen Sinks

Drilling Machine
Hand Tools (Cutting saw, spanner, pipe wrench, pliers, screw driver etc.)
Upon satisfactory receipt of material, the sanitary ware will be segregated according to
model, size and stored accordingly.
Sanitary wares will be stored on a flat surface in well ventilated and covered storage area.
Store keeper will be responsible for proper storage and maintenance of records as
required.
After getting the civil clearance, the concealed cistern will be assembled and mounted on
the wall as per approved manner as well as manufacturers recommendations.
Prior fixing any sanitary ware, it will be inspected for any damages and approved
material be used.
Fixing holes to be marked and position ascertained prior to drilling. There should not be
any redundant holes.
Cistern water inlet and flush outlet connection will be completed with suitable fittings
and same will be tested before closing the panel/ duct.
Drainage pipe (W.C. outlet/ branch) will be positioned properly to receive the W.C.
connector.
Cut out/opening for W.C. outlet, flush outlet, cistern knob/actuator are to be marked on
the panel and same to be cut as per requirement.
C pan will be mounted on the floor and location of the fixing points will be marked
(space will be provided to allow space for connectors).
Ensure that W.C. connector rubber seal is correctly located on rim of connector.
Joint/cap to wall/ panel and floor sealed with waterproof sealant after commissioning the
system.
Wash Basin
After getting the civil clearance, the water supply and drainage arrangements will be
made clear and tidy.
For wooden or similar counter-top fixing clips will be used. For marble or similar
counter-top basin, it will be supported on timber framework.
After carefully placing the basin under the rim and joint/cap apply water proof sealant.
Mixer location (as per approved) will be marked on the counter and the same will be cut.
Then mixer will be fitted and water supply, drainage connection will be made.
Kitchen sink
Water supply and drainage arrangements will be made clear and tidy.
Install the kitchen sink in the exact position (as specified in the drawing).
Fix the sink mixer and connect with cold and hot water supply with angle valve.
Fix the waste with P-trap (with strainer) and connect to the drain pipe.
Safety
All appropriate safety personal protective equipment shall be worn by workmen such as Hard
Hat, cover all clothing, safety shoes, goggles and gloves whenever required.
Where works is high level, only approved scaffolding and safety belts can be used all personals
should use safety Harness.
