CAREER OBJECTIVE
To acquire a position with a non-profit wellness organization that will allow the opportunity to draft and conduct
community events, recreational activities, and informational programs/presentations using science based
knowledge that will support the growth of the organization.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Develop fitness or wellness classes, such as yoga, aerobics, weightlifting, and aquatics, ensuring a diversity of
class offerings.
Maintain strategic fitness and nutrition education curriculum for short and long term goals.
Teach individual and team sports to youth participants through instruction and demonstration, utilizing knowledge
of sports techniques and of participants' physical capabilities.
Implement pre and post physical fitness assessments to determine fitness level and improvement throughout the
programs
Perform fitness testing and monitor participants' progress to adapt programs as needed.
Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise
equipment.
Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement
Perform activities that support a team or a specific sport, such as participating in community outreach activities,
meeting with media representatives, and appearing at fundraising events.
Develop treatment plan to meet needs of patient, based on needs assessment, patient interests and objectives of
therapy.
Instruct patient in activities and techniques, such as sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques, designed to
meet their specific physical or psychological needs.
Encourage clients with special needs and circumstances to acquire new skills and get involved in health promoting
leisure activities, such as sports, games, arts and crafts, and gardening.
Teach group exercise for low, medium, or high risk clients to improve participant strength, flexibility, endurance,
or circulatory functioning.
Plan, organize, direct and participate in treatment programs and activities to facilitate patients' rehabilitation, help
them integrate into the community and prevent further medical problems.
Educate athletes or coaches on techniques to improve athletic performance, such as heart rate monitoring,
recovery techniques, hydration strategies, or training limits.
Teach behavior modification classes related to topics such as stress management or weight control.
Lead and assist a team of interns with facility management and maintenance.
