Monday-Wednesday, December 18 th 20 th, 9AM12PM, and 2-5PM

Introduction to Mahamudra the Co-emergent Unification by Lord Jigten

Sumgon (12th century) is considered the amalgamation of the entire gamut of

essential instructions of Buddha's teachings of sutra and tantra. Lord
Sumgon founded the Drigung Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism in the
twelfth century and taught the Dharma of the three vehicles extensively for
forty years to many thousands of disciples. His teachings, coming from his
own experience, are well known for their clarity and precision.
This is the second year in a row that we will be the fortunate recipients of
H.E. Garchen Rinpoche's wisdom and instruction. His Eminence will offer
teachings from the heart of his own experience teachings that are sublime
yet humble, profound and often humorous, clear and meaningful to both
beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Known for his vast realization
and great kindness, his past incarnations include ancient Indias Mahasiddha
Aryadeva and Tibetan Siddha Gar Chodingpa, heart-student of Kyobpa Jigten
Sumgon.

H.E. Garchen Rinpoches teachings and example show the power of compassion and wisdom to transform all
afflictions and obstacles, just as his 20 year imprisonment during the political turmoil of Chinas Cultural Revolution
now manifests in radiant enlightened action. Released in 1979, Rinpoche has made great effort to rebuild Drikung
Kagy monasteries, reestablish Buddhist teachings, and build schools in eastern Tibet. He is founder and spiritual
director of the Garchen Buddhist Institute and four other Buddhist centers in the west, and is beloved as a teacher
worldwide.
