Name: ____________________________________
Park City Day School 6th Grade Cook Book Project!
For your next assignment, you will create a step-by-step guide on how to create your
favorite Thanksgiving dish! You are not simply sharing the recipe, but rather creating a
resource that explains all of your tips and tricks to create the best version of this recipe.
All of these recipes will be used to create our first annual Park City Day School 6th Grade
Cook Book!
In addition to creating a class cookbook, you will make a how-to cooking video that

Creating Your Storyboard

Your storyboard is a visual map of they way you want your video to look. Take some
time to watch other cooking videos online to get some ideas of the many different ways
your can present your information.
Each frame of your storyboard should represent a different scene in your video. Be
thoughtful about where your camera should be set up, what angles you want to use, how
zoomed-in or zoomed-out you want to be, etc. Make sure to label what is happening or
what step of the process is represented in that particular scene. The number of boxes
will depend on the number of steps you have and how you want to present your
information
Here is an example of part of a storyboard. Please note how simple the drawings are. That
is okay with me. I will not be grading you on your artistic abilities but rather how well
you have planned out how your video will look. You should use this storyboard as an
outline when filming your video. If someone else is operating your camera, share this
storyboard with them so they know where they should stand, how much to zoom, etc.
