Applications for the National Honor Society are being accepted. Please take a moment to review the application that is on the
school website under quick links. Be sure to ask for your letters of recommendation now. Dont be left out. Return all items to
Sra. Rodriguex in room 911 by Friday, February 6th at 2:30 p.m.
All Sophomores Please report to your CAHSEE testing rooms at 8:50am on Wednesday. If you have any questions, see Mr.
Rosenberg or Ms. Davila in the Attendance Building.
10th Graders--Your online course selection window for the upcoming school year will close this Friday. Please enter your course
requests in SIS by this Friday, February 6th. If you do not make you selections by this Friday, your counselor will be choosing
your courses for next year. Please see your counselor if you have any questions.
Reminder to those signed up for AMCthe contest is today! Remember to bring a No. 2 pencil, protractor, ruler, and
compass. No calculators are permitted. See Mrs. Yamasaki in Room 715 if you have any questions.
Registration for AP exams is now open through February 27th. Late fees will apply after February 27th. Registration and
payment can be done at the Finance Office or online at the LAHS Webstore. If you are in need of financial assistance contact
Ms. Maria Pilco during brunch or lunch in room 401 or call 650-960-8830.
Did you know California has so many people in it that one out of every 8 American is a Californian? California is awesome!
This is why it is the theme for this years History Week which starts next week. You will hear about how Californias farm
worker protests transformed our countrys agriculture labor policy; How Hollywood got its start. Stay tuned!
Freestyle Academy is now accepting applications for 2015-2016. Students who are interested in using technology and art to
express themselves to the world with productions such as films, websites, animations, music videos, photographic art,
illustrated art, books, magazines, graphic novels, music recording, t-shirt art and posters are encouraged to apply. No
experience is necessary to be successful at Freestyle Academy. What are necessary are your passion, creativity and desire to
develop your communication skills through various technology mediums. Get an application from the counseling office today
and submit it before the February break. Current 10th and 11th grade students can apply. Much more info available at

Freestyle Academy students will be showing their digital projects and answering questions in the theater today and tomorrow
for anyone interested in discovering or enhancing a passion in Digital Art and Design, Animation, Film, Web Design, Audio
Engineering. Please come join us in the theater at lunch today and/or tomorrow to find out more about Freestyle Academy and
you might even win a prize.
Tomorrow is World Cancer Day! Come to the quad at lunch for free purple cancer awareness ribbons. Stand Up to Cancer and
the Key Club will also be selling toys that can be donated to the Lucille Packard Childrens Hospital Bass Childhood Cancer
Center. Please wear purple tomorrow to show your support!
