HEADMASTERS CORNER
With the Spring Term now well underway I would
like to bring a few events to your attention. The
FOTM Curry and Quiz Night is fast approaching.
This is always a terrific evening so if you would
like tickets, please contact Amanda in person or
via email. Mr Nick Gregory will be giving a
presentation on e-safety. This is hugely important
area and one that we, as parents, sometimes find
hard to keep up with. Please contact Rei Calvert
in the office to book your place and if your child is
in Year 6-8 they are most welcome to attend with
you. I would also like to draw your attention to our
Annual Family Fun Day. This year the event will
take place on Saturday 17th June and will have a
music based theme as well as being a day to
celebrate the schools 70th Anniversary. If you
would like to help with the planning of the day
please contact FOTM Secretary, Camilla Allen.
Well done to our many runners. More detailed
reports follow in this Tracker but I would like to
congratulate the U11 Girls & Boys and the U13
Boys for gaining silver medals and the U13 Girls
who came fourth in the County Championships
last Saturday at Old Down Manor. Last Sunday
Dalis produced a superb performance by winning
the
South
West
U13
Cross
Country
Championships. As always, we are very proud of
all the children.
Indoor cricket nets start again on Monday evening
at Gloucestershire County Cricket Ground with
Owen Dawkins and Gloucestershire left arm seam
bowler, David Payne. I am looking forward to next
Tuesdays Year 8 Monitors meal and meeting and
to wishing our swim squads every success in the
IAPS Regional Swimming Championships at
Monkton Coombe.

STAR BADGES
A star badge awarded to Rudy
Crompton this week for his
excellent concentration,
coordination and ball skills in his
Year 2 PE Lesson. Well done
Rudy!

E-SAFETY EVENING
We are very pleased to welcome Mr Nick Gregory,
Headmaster of Wycliffe College, who will be
visiting us on Thursday 19th January at 7:00pm to
talk to us about E-Safety. We are sure this will be a
very interesting and informative evening, and cover
a lot of the 'grey' areas on the internet that we
know concern parents.

Please drop us as email to register your interest:

NETBALL

CROSS COUNTRY

U13 vs Beaudesert Park

Gloucestershire Championships,
Old Down Country Park

The U13 girls started the season with a

training match against Beaudesert Park which
proved to be very beneficial for both teams.
Each quarter was played against a mixture of
U12 and U13 girls from BPD and was a great
way to train and improve skills in a match setup.

1st Quarter was won by BPS 5-1

2nd Quarter was won by TMS 5-2
3rd Quarter was won by BPS 3-1
Final quarter won by BPS 3-1
A very even match. Micaela played
exceptionally well, especially as netball is a
new sport for her. Carmen was nominated
'Player of the Match' by Beaudesert Park
School - some very impressive and confident
scoring. Well played girls!

A successful day at Old Down, a new venue

for the Gloucestershire Amateur Athletics
Association. Tockington Manors 40 athletes
carried themselves well on a muddy, hilly
course.
The highlights were the U11 Boys, U11 Girls
and the U13 Boys who won team silver in this
Gloucestershire CC Club event. The U11 and
U13 Girls came a creditable 4th.
Logan Fitzpatrick and Ceredig Jones came
3rd, winning bronze individual medals in the
U11 Boys and U13 Boys categories.
Other Top 10 performances came from Alys
Wakeling, 6th in the U11 Girls, and Otis
Walker in the U13 Boys race.
The event was a notable achievement from all
of Tockingtons athletes.

CROSS COUNTRY
Years 3 4
An icy, cold morning with all the children trying hard but
struggling to achieve times close to their personal bests in
the slippery conditions. Badges were awarded to Gemma
Allen and James Packham.
The Performance of the Week was Poppy Sheppards
outstanding 11 second improvement on her PB. It now
stands at 3m 32s. Congratulations and well done Poppy!
