Thesis- Research Question:____Why are fewer people going to college even though most people
have been told that a college degree is important and how can I help prepare high school students
to be ready for college________________________________________________

_I will ask Poly students to fill out a survey to find out what are the reasons students do
not plan on going to a university. Then I will organize a seminar through the Newcomers
Club and UNICEF Club to explain to Poly students the importance of a college degree by
showing them released Statistics during lunch. However, my main focus are the juniors since
they are going to start applying to colleges later this year. Moreover, I will be tutoring students
who need help, encourage students to self-study, and provide financial aid and scholarship
information to students who are planning on going to a university.___
What do you hope your outcome for this Practicum will be?
__I hope that my outcome for this Practicum will be that more Poly students would start
going to a University no matter what their financial circumstances are.__________________

__The outside source I will be using is the University of California, Riverside.____________
What steps will you take to begin your practicum and how will you document each and
every step for completing your product (journal, blog, video blog, etc.).
1. Ask Poly students to fill out a survey. (Juniors and Seniors)

2. Organize a seminar to explain the importance of a college degree.

3. Offer tutoring sessions during lunch to students who need help through the
Newcomers Club which is a club that supports immigrant students. (Pictures)
4. Organize another seminar to provide financial aids and scholarship
information by showing published research and statistics. (Pictures)
5. Show Poly students how to develop self-studying skills to become ready
for college classes.
How will your research be evident in your final practicum?
__I will use the report from my research that includes statistics and graphs as a significant
evident in my final practicum that would support me to show Poly students the importance of a
college degree. I can use my research as a reference to help students with searching for grants
and scholarship. Also, I can focus more on specific races and gender which will surely make my
solution more effective.______________________________
How will you portray your final practicum in your digital portfolio?
I will be using screencastify to portray my final practicum in my digital portfolio that will
include pictures, videos, and statistics.
