Visitor Receipts. Estimated inbound receipts for the month of September amounted to about
Php14.22 billion (or US$299.86 million), recording a decline of 14.10% from its Php 16.56 billion
earnings in September 2015.

The Average Daily Expenditure (ADE) of visitors for the month in review is Php4,350.22. On the other
hand, the reported Average Length of Stay (ALoS) of visitors is registered at 9.93 nights while Average
per Capita Expenditure of visitors for the month is pegged at Php 43,197.73.

Korea is still the top spending market with estimated receipts of Php 5.06 billion for the month of
September. U.S.A. followed with an accumulated spending of about Php 1.61 billion. Visitors from
Japan have spent an estimated of Php 1.46 billion. Canada claimed the fourth spot with receipts
amounting to about Php 732.05 million. Completing the top five spending markets is China with an
estimated expenditure of Php 654.97 million.
Among the top twelve markets of the country, Canada registered the highest per capita expenditure
for two consecutive months. In average, a visitor from Canada has spent Php 76,670.97 while in the
country. Visitors from United Kingdom recorded the second biggest per capita spending of Php
47,433.21. Korea followed with Php 43,963.64 per capita expenditure. Other top markets with high
per capita spending include India with Php 37,742.36, Australia with Php 36,961.77, and Japan with
Php 33,530.73.

Visitor Arrivals. For the month of September, visitor arrivals reached a total of 422,943, an increase
of 7.46% compared to the September 2015 visitor count of 393,589. It is the first time that visitor
volume for the month of September have surpassed the 400,000 mark.

By regional grouping, East Asia provided the biggest influx of tourists with 241,681 arrivals,
constituting 57.14% portion of the total. Visitor count went up by 10.72% from 218,278 arrivals in
September last year. Korea, Japan and China which belong to this region accounted for 50.05% of the
total volume.
North America produced a total of 61,649 arrivals, a share of 14.58% to the total. This region posted
a growth of 13.97% versus its arrivals of 54,091 last September 2015. Countries belonging to the
ASEAN region comprised 8.12% share of the total inbound volume equivalent to 34,346 arrivals.

Comprising the largest bulk of arrivals are countries from Asia, with 67.23% of the total volume
equivalent to 284,357 visitors. Arrivals from North and South Americas recorded a total of 62,280
visitor count, forming the 14.73% of total arrivals. On the other hand, arrivals from Europe reached a
total of 32,655 (7.72%) while some 22,697 arrivals (5.37%) were from Australasia/Pacific.
Arrivals by Port of Entry. For the month of September 2016, 417,061 visitors entered the country
through various airports. This comprised 98.61% of the total inbound visitors to the country.

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport, as the primary port of entry of the country, welcomed
64.44% of the total visitor volume equivalent to 272,525 arrivals. For the major airports in Central
Philippines, Cebu welcomed 81,611 visitors constituting 19.30% of arrivals while Kalibo received
47,958 visitors corresponding to 11.34% of the total arrivals. The Clark International Airport, major
gateway of NorthernLuzon, recorded 12,839 visitors while the rest of the airports accumulated
2,128 arrivals.
Visitor Markets, September 2016. The Korean market supplied 115,147 arrivals, registering an
impressive growth of 20.72% vis--vis its arrivals of 95,386 for the same period last year. China
placed second for the month of September with its arrival contribution of 53,015, outranking the USA
which provided 51,866 arrivals, up by 12.04% relative to its arrivals of 46,291 in September 2015.
Meanwhile, Japan contributed 43,525 arrivals to occupy the fourth spot.

Taiwan is steady at fifth place for four straight months with 20,773 arrivals, 42.63% higher than the
volume in September last year. Australia followed with 17,584 visitor count. ASEAN countries
Singapore and Malaysia ranked 7 th and 8th with 13,190 and 10,533 arrivals, respectively. Completing
the top ten markets for the month are Canada (+26.31%) with 9,548 arrivals and United Kingdom
(+5.44%) with 9,261 arrivals.

Visitor Receipts. Total earnings gained from tourism activities from January to September 2016
aggregated to about Php 178.48 billion (or US$3.8 million). This recorded a gain of 5.76% versus the
Php 168.75 billion earnings for the same period in 2015. The month of February recorded the biggest
receipts of Php 27.49 billion, as well as, the highest growth of 42.09%.

Visitor Arrivals. As of September 2016, the country has welcomed a total of 4,464,992 visitors. This
volume is 12.08% higher than the accumulated 3,983,627 arrivals in the same period last year.
Consistent growth is observed throughout the year with double-digit gain from January to July except
for the month of May. The biggest volume was recorded in July while the highest growth was
registered in the month of February.

The market share of countries from Asia continue to expand for 2016 by bringing a total of 2,748,116,
corresponding to 61.55% of total inbound volume. Huge segment came from East Asia with 2,315,042
arrivals (51.85%) while the remaining fragments came from the ASEAN with 350,752 arrivals (7.86%)
and South Asia with 82,322 arrivals.
The Americas accumulated a total of 768,308 arrivals, a slice of 17.21% from the total. On the other
hand, 452,410 arrivals (10.13%) were recorded from Europe while 230,174 arrivals (5.16%) were
registered from the Australasia/Pacific.

Visitor Markets, January to September 2016. Korea is the biggest visitor-generating market with
arrivals summing up to 1,091,646 for 2016, covering 24.45% of the total. The United States of
America remained as the second biggest source with an aggregate 636,015 visitor arrivals,
corresponding to 14.24% of the total.
China, the third biggest market has supplied 537,582 arrivals, a share of 12.04% to the total inbound
traffic. Japan followed with visitor count of 410,669, forming 9.20% of the total volume. Australia still
claimed the fifth spot, with 178,600 arrival contribution, comprising 4.00% of the total.
Catching up to Australia is Taiwan (+31.88%) by accumulating 178,290 arrivals. Singapore followed
by bringing a total of 133,431 visitors. Showing consistent double-digit growth are United Kingdom
(+12.85%) with 126,796 arrivals and Canada (+12.54%) with 123,622 arrivals. Malaysia completed
the top 10 with 105,662 visitor count while Hongkong and India were steady at the 11 th and 12th spot,
respectively.
Among the top 12 markets, China showed the highest upsurge of arrivals by 43.82% followed by
Taiwan with 31.88% growth.

High growth markets, January to September 2016. In addition to the top twelve markets,
countries with substantial growth in visitor volume are Saudi Arabia with 44,578 arrivals (+10.20%),
Thailand with 36,379 arrivals (+10.33%) and European countries such as: Germany with 62,327
arrivals (+17.15%), France with 41,063 (+20.16%), Spain with 22,719 arrivals (+29.65%), Sweden
with 17,669 arrivals (+18.35%), Netherlands with 22,793 arrivals (+11.00%), Italy with 18,172
arrivals (+15.72%), and Denmark with 13,529 arrivals (+22.90%).
