7 Lakes of San Pablo

Bunot Lake is used primarily for floating cages operation

where most of the resident derived their source of income.

Calibato Lake is the deepest of all the seven lakes with

an average depth of 156 meters. It has the greatest
volume of water in storage which is approximately
29,600 cubic meters. Calibato Lake supplies the city
and nearby towns with abundant fish.

and

Mohicap Lake is also a major source of tilapia for Metro Manila

suburbs

Pandin Lake and Yambo Lake are known as "The Twin Lakes".
Both lakes are considered oligotropic because of their deep
clear lakes with low nutrient supplies, high dissolved oxygen
level and containing little organic matter. Pandin Lake is San
Pablos best kept lake.

to

Lake Palaklapakin is the shallowest among the seven lakes, is utilized as

communal fishing ground. An increasing construction of fishcages resulted
limited open fishing ground for the fisherfolks.

Sampaloc Lake is the largest among San Pablos Seven Crater Lakes. It is
considered one of the prime tourist spots in the city. It abounds with tilapia,
big head carp and several species of freshwater fish like ayungin, dalag and
hito including shrimps.

Manila Bay

Manila Bay is a natural harbour which serves the Port of Manila(on Luzon), in
the Philippines. Strategically located around the capital city of the Philippines, Manila Bay
facilitated commerce and trade between the Philippines and its neighbouring countries,
[1]
becoming the gateway for socio-economic development even prior to Spanish
occupation. With an area of 1,994 km2 (769.9 sq mi), and a coastline of 190 km
(118.1 mi), Manila Bay is situated in the western part of Luzon and is bounded
by Cavite and Metro Manila on the east, Bulacan andPampanga on the north,
and Bataan on the west and northwest.[2] Manila Bay drains approximately
17,000 km2(6,563.7 sq mi) of watershed area, with the Pampanga Rivercontributing
about 49% of the freshwater influx. With an average depth of 17 m (55.8 ft), it is
estimated to have a total volume of 28.9 billion cubic metres (28.9 cubic km). Entrance
to the bay is 19 km (11.8 mi) wide and expands to a width of 48 km (29.8 mi). However,
width of the bay varies from 22 km (13.7 mi) at its mouth and expanding to 60 km
(37.3 mi) at its widest point.[2]

The Pasig River

The Pasig River (Filipino: Ilog Pasig and Spanish: Ro Psig) is ariver in

the Philippines that connects Laguna de Bay to Manila Bay. Stretching for 25
kilometres (15.5 mi), it bisects the Philippine capital of Manila and its surrounding
urban area into northern and southern halves. Its major tributaries are the Marikina
River andSan Juan River.
The Pasig River is technically a tidal estuary, as the flow direction depends upon the
water level difference between Manila Bay and Laguna de Bay. During the dry season,
the water level in Laguna de Bay is low with the river's flow direction dependent on

the tides. During the wet season, when the water level of Laguna de Bay is high, the
flow is reversed towards Manila Bay.
The Pasig River used to be an important transport route and source of water
for Spanish Manila. Due to negligence and industrial development, the river has
become very polluted and is considered dead (i.e., unable to sustain life)
by ecologists. ThePasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC), which was
established to oversee rehabilitation efforts for the river, is supported by private
sector organisations such as the Clean and Green Foundation, Inc. that introduced
the Piso para sa Pasig(Filipino: "A peso for the Pasig") campaign in the 1990s.

Laguna de Ba

Laguna de Ba (Filipino: Lawa ng Laguna, Lawa ng Ba; English: Lake of

Laguna, Lake of Ba) is the largest lake in the Philippineslocated east
of Metro Manila between the provinces of Laguna to the south and Rizal to
the north. The freshwater lake has a surface area of 911949 km (352-366
sq mi), with an average depth of about 2.8 metres (9 ft 2 in) and an
elevation of about 1 metre (3 ft 3 in) above sea level. The lake is shaped like
a stylized 'W', with two peninsulas jutting out from the northern shore.
Between these peninsulas, the middle lobe fills the large volcanic Laguna
Caldera. In the middle of the lake is the large island of Talim, which falls
under the jurisdiction of the towns of Binangonan and Cardona inRizal
province.
