How do I choose?

Choices are made in Group 1 ( First and Second Languages)

All students do Mathematics.

Global Perspectives is done by all students with a view to develop


critical thinking and writing skills necessary for further programs
like IB.

Choose between Split Sciences (Physics , Chemistry and Biology)


and Coordinated Sciences (Double Award Subject).

If you choose Split Sciences then you can take 1 subject from Group
2 and 1 from Group 5 OR both Group 2 subjects.

If you choose Coordinated Sciences then you can take both


subjects from Group 2 and 1 from Group 5.

Students will be encouraged to develop a


sense of place and an understanding of
relative location on a local, regional and
global scale.

Offers the opportunity of studying some of


the major international issues of the
twentieth century, as well as looking in
somewhat greater depth at the history of
particular region/s.

Students gain an insight into the spatial


effects of the ways in which people interact
with each other and with their
environments.

The emphasis is on the development of


historical skills such as the acquisition of
knowledge and source analysis.

The coursework component involves field


study which enhances their data collection
techniques, synthesis/ analysis of
information, encourages team building
skills and critical thinking.

There is a coursework component which


develops enquiry based research, critical
thinking and writing skills.

Recommended for Liberal Arts, Urban


Studies, Development Studies,
Environmental Sustainability, Oceanology.

Recommended for Law, Liberal Arts program,


International Relations, Development
Economics & Mass communication.

Drama- a lively interest in Drama and an interest to

Business Studies- The course creates awareness of business

Optional PE- An interest in at least 2 sports with a syllabus
which has 60% coursework practical.
Art and Design- An artistic fair and temperament which will
be further enhanced through observation, design and critical
skills.
Computer Science-The study of the principles and practices of
computation and computational thinking and their application
in the design and development of computer systems.
