DIRECTIONS: Groups 2 people will create an informative MINI-POSTER (half a poster board) focusing on a famous explorer.
The poster should be colorful, neat, and interesting. Your group's grade will be determined by the following criteria. Be sure to
include all the requirements. The project is worth 70 points, and bonus will be available for outstanding achievement.
1. Name of Explorer (10 Points)
-The name should be large, colorful and easily read

2. Greatest Contribution (10 Points)

-The most significant contribution to history must be included in the poster
-The contribution needs to be clear, concise and obvious on the poster
-Be sure to check with the instructor to verify the person's most important contribution

3. Timeline (10 Points)

-A time line must be included on the poster that has 5 dates of important Age of Exploration events
-These 5 dates of events may be ANY important achievements of OTHER explorers
-The birth/death dates of your person should be included
-The date of the person's greatest contribution should be included
4. Fun Facts (10 Points)
-5 Fun Facts about your explorer must be included
-These facts should be interesting and demonstrate the significance of your explorer
-These facts could include relevant information about the Age of Exploration

-A map of your explorers route/discoveries must be included
-The map should show any locations relevant to your explorer

-The poster should be creatively and neatly organized
-The poster should be colorful and interesting

-Posters will be judged for each class
-The posters from each class will be ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and earn bonus points

2nd=8 bonus points
3rd=6 bonus points
4th=4 bonus points
5th=2 bonus points

8. Bonus Super Secret Surprise Category

-ONE poster will be chosen "BEST ALL DAY"
-This poster will receive 10 additional bonus points
-2nd place will receive 5 additional bonus points
