This sweater is intended to be a little on the big side. If you'd like to make a more snug fitting sweater, go down a size.

Front

next 11( 12, 14, 16, 17) sts to end, ch2, turn
Row 2: 1 hdc in first 6 (7, 9, 10, 11) sts, sl st in next 23 (23, 25, 25, 25)

With Paw

Left Front
1 hdc in next 22 (23, 25, 27, 28) sts, ch2, turn. Work 8 (8, 10, 10, 10)
more rows even in hdc. Do not ch2 at the end of the last row.
Row 1: Sl st in first 4 sts, hdc in each st to end, ch2, turn
Row 2: 1 hdc in each st to last 4 hdc sts before sl sts, turn
Row 3: Sl st in first 4 (4, 5, 5, 5) sts, hdc in each st to end, ch2, turn
Row 4: 1 hdc in each st to last 3 (3, 3, 4, 4) hdc sts before sl sts, turn

Right Front
Right front will be worked to overlap left front. Reattach yarn 4 sts away
from left front center edge. Ch 2 in 4 th st of left front, work 1 hdc in this st,
1 hdc in next 3 sts that have already been worked for left front edge,
then 1 hdc in each unworked right front st to end, ch 2, turn.
Inc 1 st at center front for next 5 rows. Then Inc 2 sts at center front for
next 2 (2, 4, 4, 4) rows. Beg buttonhole row at center front.

Ch 8 (9, 10, 11, 12).

Shape Sleeve Cap

Continue increasing in this manner for 4 more rows. Work 1 row of sc.
Continue working sc along side edge of ear, working 12 sts along
edge of hdc sts, ch 1 at top of ear, work 12 sts along other side edge
of ear. Break yarn & fasten off.

Block pieces to schematic measurements.


Sew front and back together at side and shoulder seams. Seam the
side hood pieces to the hood middle piece (blue lines in schematic.)
Pin and sew the hood to the neckline edge of sweater, easing from the
middle back towards the front (sides will not reach all the way around).
Work 1 row of sc along front and hood edges (red borders in
schematic), working 1 sc into the edge or top of each hdc along this
edge.
Sew sleeve seam, if paw was made sew all the way around the starting
curve to close the end. Sew sleeve into armhole, easing as necessary.
Using the template provided, cut out paws, nose, and ears from felt as
directed. Sew felt paw pieces to sleeve ends. Sew pink ear pieces onto
crocheted ears Attach ears to hood, rounding the base of ears slightly
so that they curve towards the front. Sew nose piece to muzzle pieces.
Sew this finished piece to the top edge of hood. Sew eye pieces to
side of hood on either side of muzzle.
Sew button in place for closure.
Weave in all ends. Adorn baby of choice in adorable kitty hoodie.
