Ministry Update

Prayer Requests
Pray for Paul as he
prepares to teach five
weeks straight (85 hours
of classroom teaching)
on our upcoming
missions trip.
Pray for safety and an
affective time of
ministry as we travel as
a family to South
Korea, Hungary, and
Ukraine from
February 18-March 26.

Expanding Ministry
Paul recently had the privilege of teaching the 289 freshman students at Word of Life New
Yorks Bible Institute campus. The 10-hour course covered the book of Daniel, with a
concentrated focus on Daniel 9, which Paul believes is the key to understanding all other
prophetic revelation. This chapter
provides the framework for all
subsequent prophecy concerning the
coming time known as the Tribulation.

wrote on Daniel 9, and click HERE to

for the course.

Pray for Paul as he

continues his Ph.D.
studies with Baptist
Bible Seminary.
Pray for our continued
transition of ministry
and life in the United
States.
Pray that our house in
Hungary will sell.

In addition to his class on the book of Daniel, Paul

also taught the sophomore level WOLBI New York
students a 25-hour course on the books of 1 and 2
Thessalonians over the Fall Semester. He received
great reviews from both classes and thoroughly
enjoyed the time of preparation and teaching.

As International Faculty Coordinator, one of Pauls responsibilities is to assist the

international teaching sites of the WOL Global Bible Institute, as well as aid in connecting
new locations. One of the new countries to join the Global Bible Institute is Brazil, so Paul
and Mark Strout (Executive Dean of the Bible Institute in New York) made a one-week
whirlwind trip of the three WOL Bible Institutes located in this gigantic country. As a result
of this vision casting trip, all three Brazilian schools plan to join the Word of Life Global
Bible Institute next year! Paul and Mark
were able to connect with the leadership
of each of these schools, and begin the
planning process of becoming officially
accredited and a part of the WOL Global
Bible Institute. These three schools are
located in three very different parts of
Brazil and all have very unique and
exciting ministries (Sao Paul [city],
Recife [North-East], and Belem [Amazon
River]). While in Brazil, Paul also had the
opportunity to connect with several
graduates of the WOL Hungary Bible
Institute, who now live and serve in
Brazil. How exciting it was to see these
alumni serving the Lord and their people!

Winter 2017

From New York to South Korea to Hungary to Ukraine

We are looking forward to a five-week family
missions trip coming up next month! Paul will be
teaching at three of the Bible Institutes, and Jill
will be ministering to the female students at these
respective schools, (as well as ministering to
Caroline). The first stop will be South Korea, on
an island called Jeju, which houses the WOL
Korea Bible Institute. We will be there for
approximately 2 weeks. Paul will be teaching the
Gospel of Matthew (20 hours) and Theology
Proper (10 hours). From there we head to
Hungary for two weeks. Paul will teach the book
of Hebrews twice (20 hours), a course on Biblical Archaeology (10 hours), and a course called Comparative Theology
(15 hours). Our fifth week of ministry will be in Ukraine, at the WOL Ukraine Bible Institute. Here Paul will teach the
Book of Daniel (10 hours). Please pray for an affective time of ministry for our family from February 18-March 26.

Family Life: Finally Getting to Unpack!

On January 14th, Caroline celebrated her first birthday. She is keeping Jill very busy, and is
now quite mobile. She has been walking for nearly a month, and loves to climb stairs (much to
our chagrin). She is very determined, and seems to find her way around all obstacles in order
to find her way to those stairs. However, she always looks back to see if Mommy or Daddy are
following her. This seems to be her new favorite game, but peek-a-boo is a close second.
We are also getting settled into a cozy
2-bedroom apartment. Paul is doing a lot of
painting and repair work late into the
evenings to make it personal. After 8 months of
transition, it will be so wonderful to FINALLY
unpack and make this place our home! The apartment is only one mile
away from Pauls office, allowing Paul to come home for lunch on
occasion, or for Jill and Caroline to walk to the campus for ministry. Jill is
very much looking forward to settling down in our new place, and
reinstituting her hospitality ministry. Many have been recipients of Jills
great hospitality in Hungary and we look forward to restarting that here in
New York. We are excited to minister to the students in our home, as well
as staff and friends. We have missed this aspect of ministry greatly.
Additionally, Paul and Jill both enjoy the privilege of mentoring Bible
Institute students in New York (as well as while overseas). We meet weekly with students to pray, encourage them, and
share what we can from our life and ministry experiences. This often occurs around lunch at the school.
