0.3.1 Part 1 of this
series deals
general requirements applicable to all fabricated
PVC fittings. Specitic requirements of different
types of fittings are covered in separate parts of
the standard.
This standard deals with the specific requirements
for 22p bends. This part was
first published in 1982. The present revision has
been taken up to extend the size of fittings to 630
mm in line with the sizes of pipes specified in
IS : 4985-1988*.

1988*.
0.3 The requirements

of fabricated PVC fittings

are covered in the following thirteen parts of the
standard:
Part 1 General requirements
Part 2 Specific requirements for sockets
for
straight
Part 3 Specific requirements
reducers
Part 4 Specific requirements for caps
Part 5 Specific requirements for equal tees
Part 6 Specific requirements for flanged tail
pieces with metallic flanges
Part 7 Specific requirements
for threaded
adaptors
Part 8 Specific requirements for 90 bends

0.4 For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this standard is complied
with, the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test or analysis, shall be
rounded off in accordance with IS : 2-1960-/-.
The number of significant places retained in the
rounded off value should be the same as that of
the specified value in this standard.

potable water supplies ( second revision ).
tRules for rounding off numerical values ( revised ).
