SPU Board (SPU-9211)

This board is set at factory use in the FR-7062. For use in the FR-7112 or 7252, change the
Factory menu as below.
While pressing and holding down the GAIN (HM-OFF) control, press the [MENU] key five
times to display the factory menu.
1) MAX range
64: FR-7062; 72: FR-7112; 96: FR-7252
2) Type
R: Regular; G: German; N: Netherlands; K: Korea
Select R-type usually. G- and N-types are the same as R-type as of April 1998.
K-type is the same as R-type, but range ring is complied with IMO standard.
3) Model
Selects the Antenna Unit (MIC).
7062: FR-7062; 7112/7252: FR-7112/7252
4) Language
JPN: Japanese; ENG: English
5) Default Setting
Default settings (except factory menu) can be restored by selecting Default Setting and
pressing the [ENTER] key three times, and then restart the radar. After changing the
setting, the installation adjustment (heading, timing, etc.) must be carried out again.
Adjustments, Initial Settings
Most adjustments and initial settings may be completed on the Installation Setup menu.
1)Press the HM OFF control while turning on the power 2)Press the [MENU] key, the main
menu appears 3)Select the OTHERS menu.
The following adjustments should be performed in this menu
(8). Tune/Video Auto Adjustment: Press the [STBY/TX] key to transmit. Hit Enter after
selecting this in menu.
(9). Heading Alignment: after selecting in menu, follow the instructions in the message box
as it appears, this compensates for position of scanner.
(10). Sweep Timing Adjustment: due to trigger pulse time, if unit is not adjusted correctly,
some targets that are straight may not appear with straight edges, they will be seen as
pushed in or pushed out near the picture center.
Use the following steps to perform adjustment.
1) Transmit on the shortest range and confirm that the [GAIN] and [A/C SEA] controls
are properly adjusted.
2) Visually select a target which forms a straight line (for example, harbor wall, straight
pier).
3) Select the (10) Sweep Timing Adjustment and press the [ACQ/ENTER] key.
4) Operate the trackball to straighten the target selected at step 2, and then press the
[ACQ/ENTER] key.
