EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION FOR CONTRACTUAL ENGAGEMENT
OF ASSISTANT PROFESSORS
No: 02 of 2017 Dated: 19.01.2017

Applications on the prescribed form are invited from the eligible candidates for contractual engagement
to the post of Assistant Professor for B. Voc programme in Tourism & Hospitality Management on a
monthly consolidated salary Rs. 38,750/- (01 post)
Note:
Those candidates who have already applied for the a b o v e m e n t i o n e d post v i d e
Employment Notification No. 01 of 2016 dated 06-01-2016 need not to apply again.
However, they may update their credentials by applying on a plain paper along with required
documents without any fee.

Masters Degree in Tourism Management/ Travel & Tourism Management/Hospitality


Management with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B in the sevenpoint scale of UGC from a recognized University.
Should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR
or similar test accredited by the UGC. Those candidates, who have cleared the State
Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held
prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from the requirement of NET. For SLET/SET
held from 1st June, 2002 onwards, only those candidates are eligible who have
qualified J&K State Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship.
Candidates with Ph. D. Degree awarded in accordance with the University Grants
Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree)
Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility
condition of NET/SLET/SET. Such candidates are required to submit a certificate in
the prescribed format (Annexure I) from the concerned University to the effect that
their Ph.D degree is compliant of UGC (Minimum standards and procedure for
awards of M.Phil/Ph.D degree) Regulation 2009.
However, the candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D programme prior to July 11,
2009, and have been awarded degrees in accordance with the then existing
Ordinances/Regulations/By Laws of the Institutions, shall also be exempted from the
requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET subject to the
fulfilment of conditions mentioned in (Annexure II).

Candidates having PG in the relevant subjects without NET/SLET/ Ph.D can also
apply. However, they shall be appointed on a lower salary to be decided by the
University.
NET/SLET/SET shall, however, not be required in disciplines for which
NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. The engagement to the post advertised is purely on contract basis and the selected candidates
will not have any claim for the permanent appointment.
2. Short listing of the applicants, if necessary, shall be made on the basis of higher academic
qualification or merit and/or experience or any other means decided by the University.
3. The engagement to the post will be made on the basis of the performance of the candidate in
the interview and/or any other parameter as deemed fit by the Interview/Selection Committee
constituted for the purpose.
4. The University reserves the right not to fill up all/any of the posts advertised if the
circumstances so warrant.
5. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
6. Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) will be provided at the Masters/Bachelors level
in the case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped candidates and to those Ph.D. degree
holders, who have passed their Masters Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
7. Applications not accompanied by necessary supporting documents, self attested copies of
degree certificates/ marks sheets/experience certificate/category certificate (if applicable)
issued by the competent authority, shall be rejected summarily.
8. Candidates with foreign degrees shall be required to enclose Association of Indian Universities
(AIU) equivalence certificate with their application form without which application/s cant be
considered.
9. Last date for submission of forms is 31st January, 2017. The University shall not be
responsible for any postal delay.
HOW TO APPLY?

The detailed eligibility conditions and prescribed application form are available on the University
website (www.cukashmir.ac.in). The downloaded application form is to submitted along with a fee
receipt of Rs. 200/- However, the candidates belonging to SC, ST & PwD are required to pay only
Rs. 100 as application fee. Payment of application fee can be made online through a link available on
University website (www.cukashmir.ac.in). Complete application form may either be delivered
personally or sent by post to the Recruitment Section, Nowgam, Near Puhroo Crossing, Srinagar
190 015, J&K by or before 31 st January, 2017. Applications received after the last date shall be
summarily rejected and no further correspondence shall be entertained in this regard. Details of the
interview schedule along with the list of eligible/shortlisted candidates for the interview shall be available on
the University website (www.cukashmir.ac.in) No communication in this regard shall be made through
post or newspapers.
