Shooting Script
In order to complete this correctly, you should paste the lyrics to your song in
one column and complete a detailed description of what visuals are happening in
the column next to it.

Black background screen. Lyrics on the screen in

white, jagged writing. The music gradually gets
louder.

Young boy is staring at a shop window. Zoom in on

the price, then the boy biting his lip. He starts to
check his pockets for money, but cannot find any.
Zoom in on his disappointed face. Medium shot of
him pulling away from the shop window, then an
over-the-shoulder shot of him walking away, moving
the camera from behind him to in front of him,
kicking the ground with his trainers.
Long front shot of young boy walking down a country
lane when he arrives at a posh house. Medium shot
of him checking over his shoulder. The boy walks
through the gate and up to the front door (long
shot). He picks lock on door and breaks into the
house. The boy slowly walks around the different
rooms, careful not to touch anything. Close up shot
as he pulls a pair of gloves out of his jacket and puts
them on. Long shot as he takes bag off shoulder and
starts to place things into it: jewellery, objects,
money.

Shouts come from off set. Close up shot of the boy

face he is clearly scared. Both POV shots and overthe-shoulder shots of him running down the stairs,
out of the house and back up the lane. As soon as he
reaches the top road, he slows down and arches over
in exhaustion. Foley sounds of heavy breathing and
long shot of him being small in comparison to the
rest of the area.

Close up shot of the boy unlocking his door. He jogs
up the stairs and goes straight to the cupboard.
Medium shot of him hiding the duffel bag behind
some clothes. He gets changes out of the black
jacket and puts on a fresh shirt. Close up of him
wiping sweat from his forehead before a medium
shot of him walking out of his room. As he walks
down the stairs you see his sister sneak into his
room.

Off camera shout. Medium shot of him running up

the stairs (slow motion) and seeing the duffel bag on

eyes meeting his. White flash on screen and he has
a flashback of him stealing the items and running
away. Another white flash on screen. Medium shot of
him shaking his head snapping out of the memory.
They start to argue, but the words are the lyrics of
the song.

The argument starts to turn physical and the two are

pushing each other. Long and medium shots of the
boy attempting to restrain himself, and the girl
throwing the bag at him. He chucks it to the floor
and pushes her. She trips backwards and in slow
motion falls to the ground (long shot).

Lighting Information:
In the church, the lighting will already be
quite bright, as we will be filming during
the day. However, due to the dark buildings
and the tainted glass on the windows, it
might not be ideal.

Solutions:
We are going to bring in a studio light to
the church so that if the lighting does not
show up as expected on the camera, we
have the option to use the studio lights if
we need them.

Sound Information:
There might be other people in the church
when we film in there, so they could cause
noises that will show up in the audio of the
clips.

Solutions:
Because the song of the music video is the
key audio, we are going to mute all the
clips anyway so that there are no extra
sounds that disrupt the music.

Power Information:
We need to make sure we have full power
every time we film a section of the music
video, as in the past, some of us have
experienced bad battery problems before
shooting.

Solutions:
We are going to make sure everyone in the
group brings their camera, as well as a fully
charged battery pack and their charging
lead. This way, someone will always have
power.

Hazards:
A hazard in the church might be the
candles they use for religious purposes.
Another could be the hard flaw could be
the hard surface of the floor, which
potentially could become slippery when
wet from rain or ice.

Solutions:
To get rid of the hazard of fire, we will
either film away from the candles or make
sure none of the candles is alight when we
film. In regards to the wet floor, we can
keep this risk to a minimum to clear our
shoes before we go in to decrease the
water.

Clearances and Confirmations

You need confirmation emails from everyone that is featuring in your
music video. Please screenshot these emails including the dates and times
they are agreeing to paste them below. If you are filming somewhere that
requires permission, please obtain permission and paste the confirmation
below.

Contingency Plan
What are your plans for if something goes wrong? What back up actors,
locations and equipment do you have?
In the past couple of short films, particular events have gone
wrong leading to the short films needing contingency plans.
What back up actors do we have?

For the female lead, we have Lara Jones as our back up actor.
For the male lead, we have Elliott Plumridge as our back up actor.

What back up locations do you have?

For the house that the male lead steals from, we have Elliotts house
as a backup location if Lotties is not available.
For the road that the male lead runs down, there are plenty of
similar roads nearby that are just as accessible.
For the church, we have contacted the church in Whitchurch-OnThames as a backup in case we are unable to record in the church at
Henley.

What back up equipment do you have?

We all have HD cameras, and we will be bringing these to every location
with a memory card and full battery charge. We will also be bringing two
tripods (one large one & one small one). At certain locations we will also
have people who will be filming also, which means we will be sharing
equipment. This includes two more tripods and three more cameras.
