Steps
1. Keep a vacuum cleaner in the equipment and clean dust in the equipment periodically.
Operation procedure: Use a blower to blow away the dust on the equipment surface,
and use absolute alcohol to wash the equipment surface. It is recommended to put a
thin layer of heat-conductive silicon oil on the components exposed in the air.
2. Take antistatic measures to protect the equipment.
Operation procedure: Keep a certain humidity inside the equipment room, prevent the
accumulation of static electricity, and keep good contact between the grounding cable
and the equipment.
3. Verify that the air conditioner in the equipment room is operating properly, and keep
the temperature inside the equipment room within the range from 15 C to 35 C.
4. Keep the humidity inside the equipment room within the range from 20% to 80%, and
take waterproof and dampproof measures for the equipment in the rainy season.

engineering design requirement.
2. Verify that the ODU's adapter is firmly fixed on the pole, meeting the wind resistance
requirement.
3. If the ODU is installed in separate mode, verify that the interface of the flexible
waveguide flange is firmly and reliably connected to the ODU's adapter, and ensure
that the bending radius of the flexible waveguide does not exceed 90.
4. Verify that the ODU is within the protection range of the lightning rod.
1-8
SJ-20150804150350-006|2015-09-17 (R1.0)
Note:
The protection angle of the antenna's lightning rod must be less than 45. In areas
with high mountains or frequent thunderstorm, the protection angle of the antenna's
lightning rod must be less than 30.
Steps
1. Verify that the combiner is fastened to the antenna firmly and the four screws are
secured.
2. Verify that the combiner is within the protection range of the lightning rod.
Note:
The protection angle of the antenna's lightning rod must be less than 45. In areas
with high mountains or frequent thunderstorm, the protection angle of the antenna's
lightning rod must be less than 30.

2. Verify that the antenna bracket is firmly and reliably fixed on the pole, meeting the wind
resistance requirement.
3. Verify that the antenna is within the protection range of the lightning rod.
Note:
The protection angle of the antenna's lightning rod must be less than 45. In areas

4. Verify that the bending radius of the IF cable is greater than 30 cm.
5. Verify that the grounding points of the IF cable comply with the specification.
The IF cable should be more than 60 m in length and is grounded in the three-point
grounding mode. If the IF cable is shorter than 60 m, it is recommended to ground the
cable in the two-point grounding mode. Waterproofing measures should be made at
the grounding points.
6. To satisfy the antenna height adjustment requirement in future, reserve 5-10 m of the

ties.
8. Fix the outdoor IF cable with cable ties every one meter.
Note:
At the position where the IF cable is led from outdoors to indoors, if the outdoor IF cable
is higher than the feeder window bottom, make a waterproof bend near the feeder

Chapter 2 Troubleshooting
If the PC is configured with two network adapters, it cannot access the equipment
sometimes. In this case, disable one network adapter. After that, the PC can access
the equipment successfully.
4. Verify that the firewall function is not enabled on the PC.
Normally, the firewall function will prohibit some programs to access the network. It is
recommended to disable the firewall function or add the ports to be accessed in the
firewall configuration.
5. Check the RUN indicator of the RCMUC or RCMUD board to verify that the RCMUC
or RCMUD board is operating properly.
l If the RUN indicator is lit red for five seconds, the RCMUC or RCMUD board is
being started.
l If the RUN indicator is lit green, the RCMUC or RCMUD board is operating
properly.
l If the RUN indicator is not lit green after the RCMUC or RCMUD board is started,
the RCMUC or RCMUD board may be faulty.
6. If the problem still exists after the previous operations, replace the PC.
If the antenna is not aligned with the main lobe direction, adjust the antenna
direction with the main lobe direction.

l If the antenna is aligned with the main lobe direction, go to the next step.
Verify that the two ends of the link have consistent antenna polarization, and the ODU
and antenna have consistent polarization.
Draw the cross section diagram in accordance with the map, and verify that there is
no obstacle. If there is any obstacle, modify the mounting height of the antenna or
change the route direction.
Verify that the feeders and connectors do not have water leakage or are not moist. The
connectors include those between the antenna and combiner, between the combiner
and ODU, and between the ODU and feeder. If the receive level drops due to water
leakage, resolve the water leakage problem or replace the ODU.
Verify that the antenna and ODU are in good condition.
l Verify that the ODU power does not decrease. If the power is insufficient, replace
the ODU.
l In areas with serious salt corrosion, verify that the equipment does not rust. If
the receive level drops due to antenna rust, use the antenna that provides salt
corrosion prevention.

8.
Verify that the feeders and feeder connectors are in good condition.
Verify that the polarization of the antenna and the ODU are installed properly.
