FLEXUS

The worlds most flexible intercom system

DAISY-CHAIN & ETHERNET LAN BOTH IN ONE SYSTEM!

FLEXUS DIGITAL INTERCOM GIVES YOU MORE OF WHAT YOU NEED.

AND LESS OF WHAT YOU DONT.
WITH EITHER DAISY-CHAIN OR ETHERNET CONFIGURATIONS
OR BOTH FROM ONE MASTER STATION!

LESS
MORE user stations (beltpacks or remote speaker stations) Up to 24 user stations per Master
Station, and up to four Master Stations may be
linked via Gigabit Ethernet for a maximum of 96
user stations in a single, fully integrated system.
MORE clarity All audio is 16-bit/48 kHz
uncompressed.
MORE Program Audio Two PGM audio feeds
over the network; mono stations can select either feed, while binaural stations have both
feeds enabling stereo PGM to headset.
MORE extended user functions All speaker stations have six multi-function channels
with each programmable for Listen Only audio,
GPO relay, or as an integrated Cue Light channel using the ASL Digital Cue Light system.
LESS wiring for lower costs No need to wire separate daisy chains to accommodate multiple groups.
LESS set-up time One daisy chain serves
lighting, video, eects, backstage, etc.
EITHER daisy-chain or Ethernet-based conguration, or BOTH in the same system One
master station can connect up to 24 remote
units (beltpacks or speaker stations) via LAN,
or on daisy chains, or as a split system with
both network and daisy chain modes. (For conguration examples, please see page 7.)

FLEXUS MASTER STATION AND EXTENSION PANELS

FLEXUS REMOTE SPEAKER STATIONS

FLEXUS Master Station and Extension Panels

The FL 2400 Master Station is the command and communications center for a FLEXUS intercom
system. Housed in a compact 1U rackmount cabinet, the Master Station includes the four full duplex intercom channels, the Multi-function Channel section, and Master Section. Also available are
a PGM audio channel (2 channels for binaural stations), a gooseneck mic jack, a headset connector
(XLR-4 or XLR-5) and a USB connector for software updates.
The rear panel of the Master Station supplies full
connectivity for any size of intercom system. The
Ethernet connectivity can be used for linking to
remote stations and/or beltpacks, as well as for Gigabit Ethernet connection to as many as three other
master stations for extended system capabilities.
Connections also are supplied for daisy chain lines,
16 GP relay outputs, three GP opto inputs, four
4-wire system interfaces, program audio inputs,
stage announce/hot mic output and Call Beacon.

A Master Station may be paired with the FL EP4

Extension Panel (not shown) for expanding a
system to a total of eight intercom channels, or
with the FL EP8 Extension Panel (shown) for a total
of 12 intercom channels. Extension Panels are
powered by the Master Station and are quickly
connected using a single D-Sub HD15 connector.

FLEXUS Remote Speaker Stations

Built for years of heavy use, FLEXUS Remote
Speaker Stations may be tted with flanges for 19
rack mount installation (2U), or housed in heavy
duty steel desktop consoles. Remote Stations are
powered via 48 V DC from a daisy chain line, by PoE
if on a LAN, or by local mains using a power adapter.
Three versions are available to accommodate
requirements for 4, 8 or 12 intercom channels. The 4-channel FL 430 RS is shown in
the desktop console, and the 12-channel FL
1230 RS with flanges for rack installation.

BELTPACK, BOOSTER PSU & INTERFACES

FLEXUS Beltpack
Sleek, rugged and designed for exceptionally easy operation, the BP 390 beltpack oers a category-leading level of flexibility and features in a compact and lightweight package. Power is supplied
by the daisy chain line (48 VDC) or PoE from a compatible network switch. Vibration mode is
selectable instead of call buzzer. Each beltpack includes:

WIRING TOPOLOGIES & PRODUCT OVERVIEW

A
Master station with 24 beltpacks or 12 remote speaker stations in a daisy chain ring, with a FL 87/S in the middle. If the ring is cut or interrupted at one point, this topology oers power and data redundancy for all remote
stations. If the remote speaker stations are locally powered via mains to 48 VDC adapter, a total of 24 of these
speaker stations may be connected to the daisy chain lines.

One PGM channel (two PGM channels with
binaural beltpacks)
Mini-jack connector for headphones (earpiece)
Headset connector (XLR-4 for mono or XLR-5 for
binaural)
Mini jack for Call Beacon (ASL BlinQ)

B
Master station with 12 remote stations (speaker stations or beltpacks) via LAN and 12 beltpacks or 6 remote
speaker via the daisy chain lines. If remote speaker stations are locally powered via mains to 48 VDC adapter, a
total of 12 of these speaker stations may be connected to the daisy chain lines.

FL 87/S Booster Power Supply & Switch

FL 722 Stand-alone Dual 4-wire Interface

FLEXUS Booster Power Supply

The FL 87/S Booster Power Supply augments the 48
VDC power in a daisy chain line. It may be inserted in ring or split topologies to provide power as
needed. The Booster Power Supply also may be
used to provide redundant power for the Master
Station in case of internal PSU or mains failure.
FLEXUS Stand-alone Dual 4-Wire Interface
The FL 722 supplies two 4-wire interfaces for
connection to a FLEXUS system using either
daisy chain or LAN topologies. The unit oers the
same features and functions as the interfaces
built into the Master Station. Each interface can
be congured as Audio In/Out (also to full-duplex wireless intercom); as a 4-Wire Interface
(to 4-wire analog intercom or semi-duplex wireless intercom); or as an IFB/Paging interface.
FLEXUS Stand-alone Party Line Interface
The FL 711 provides a party line interface
for connection to a FLEXUS system using either daisy chain or LAN topologies.
