High School Professional Development

RULER Approach~ Developing our Staff Charter


As a staff I want to feel :
Supported
Respected
Proud
Connected
Trusted
Inspired
As a staff in small groups we came up with these words. The staff
broke up into six groups and worked on what will we do to have these
feelings consistently? Staff were asked to come up with behaviors that
we can all be responsible for that would be specific and measurable
behaviors. Some groups finished but not all. We will need to continue to
work on this during our next professional development afternoon.

Respected

Welcome all ideas from all staff and acknowledge the value
Greeting each other enthusiastically by name
Give every speaker undivided attention
Reciprocate/acknowledge others even when we feel :(
Recognize each others accomplishments & efforts
Be considerate of each others time and feelings
Take time to be aware of others feelings, situations, concerns
etc.
