WEEK 1
Day 1:
Entered the plant at 10 A.M. Waited for 2 hours to meet HR Manager. Later HR manager
interviewed me about the subject and said Insurance is compulsory to do project in the
organization, so get the insurance and start your OS. I left the plant for getting insurance.
Day 2:
With the insurance for 1 lakh rupee I met the HR. He said that they are busy in auditing so asked
me to meet him after lunch. I met him after lunch break, he sent me for safety induction where I
was taught about how to behave and move in the plant safely. Some of them are Helmet and the
shoes are compulsory to enter the plant. Use only foot path to walk. Do not touch any
machinery/equipment even though they are not working why because the whole plant is controlling
from the Computer controlled room. Photography is strictly prohibited unless it is permitted by
the guide. These are some main instructions given in safety induction.
Day 3:
On the third day, the guide explained me about the company profile. Some basic
information like India constitutes 7% of the countrys GDP. India is the second largest producer
of quality cement in the world. Currently there are 40 players in the industry across the country.
The demand for cement, depends mainly on the industrial activities, real estate business,
construction activities and investment in the infrastructure sector. And he explained what is
Cement and types of cement, leading players in production of cement, little history of cement and
cement industries, Raw materials required and finally he explained the process of production of
cement and told me that following day will be the overall plant visit.
Day 4:
From the morning onwards we started visiting plant. We started with mining site but we
are not allowed to enter into it which is owned by the Bharathi cements itself. From mining site
the limestone in the form of bolder will be brought to the crushers where it the stone is crushed
into small (50 mm) stones. From crushers it will be stored in the form of piles by using stackers
and those will be used by using re claimer. Later the lime is mixed with some other materials and

entered in to the Raw mill (There are two rawmills in the plant) which is Vertical Raw Mill. Then
the crushed powder is transferred to the preheaters and to the kiln where it was heated at high
temperatures to make clinker. Then clinker was cooled by cooler by using blowers and will be
stored in SILOs by using conveyer belt. Guide said that remaining process will be explained on
next day.
Day 5:
From 12:30 P.M. onwards guide started explaining about the company profile. Bharathi
was founded by the promoters of Sakshi Telugu Daily & Sakshi TV, under the chairmanship of
Smt. Y.S. Bharathi Reddy and managing director Markus Oberle from Vicat. Before vicat,
Bharathi Cement is a company that has been promoted by the Sakshi Group, which has interests
in media and power. It is controlled by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Member of Parliament (MP)
from Kadapa and son of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Apart
from the Sakshi group, Bharathi Cement has been co-promoted by India Cements Ltd., Dalmia
Cement (Bharat) Ltd. and N. Prasad, vice chairman and founder of Matrix Laboratories Ltd. The
Sakshi group bought Raghu ram Cements in 2007 and renamed it Bharathi Cement. Along with
the above information company mission, careers, strengths, Technology, Products, Leadership was
explained.

Day 6:
I was asked to wait for some time because of some meeting for guide. Later he took me to
the accounting department. There I got information about how bill was raise on the purchase of
materials from the supplies and how the accounting department linked to the purchase department
for purchasing the required materials and inputs.
