Overview of Factors Cause Breast Cancer Occurrence in Singkawang

ABSTRACT
The death rate from cancer is increasing every year. Breast cancer is a common type of cancer
found in women and is the second leading cause of death in women (WHO, 2005) .Insiden breast
cancer is still high in Indonesia.
This research is a quantitative research, using descriptive method with retrospective approach, to
obtain a picture of the factors that cause breast cancer in Singkawang 2015. Years of Research
carried out from August to December 2015 with a sample of 39 women who have breast cancer.
The analytical method used is a univariate analysis.
The results showed that it has the largest percentage factor of breast cancer over the age of 50
years (54%), history of breastfeeding exclusively (56%), gave birth to multiparous (82%), the
use of counter sepsipil less than 10 years
(56%), age of menarche more than 11 years (74%), family history of breast cancer (62%) and
obesity (64%).
