Teamwork: Working Together

God made us as individuals and we should not deny it. But at the same time, He made us
interdependent. We are many members, but one body in Christ. He wants us to learn to work
together. God Himself is a Trinity. One God consisting of three persons, each of which is fully God.
The three persons are in perfect unity of being and harmony in working together. God wants His
people to reflect His image by working together in unity and harmony. Why did God include
Nehemiah 3 in Scripture? What can we learn from it? It shows us the importance of working together
to accomplish Gods purpose.

1. To accomplish Gods purpose, we need to know and embrace the mission

and have a ___________________ on how God wants us to accomplish it.
The mission/purpose of the church is what our Lord commanded us to do. It is what we see
the apostles teaching, and the New Testament churches practicing. The mission of the church
is the mission of the universal church, and of every local church. The church should be practicing
holy living, carrying on the work which Christ began in His earthly ministry (we are His body), and
proclaiming the gospel and making disciples. (Matthew 28:18-20, 22:37-39, Luke 9:35,
John 14:15, Romans 12:10, 2 Timothy 2:2, etc.)

Mission: We exist for God and His glory alone. He calls us to passionately follow Jesus,
selflessly love others, and intentionally make disciples.
The vision/plan of Amite Baptist Church is how we believe God wants us to partner with him in
accomplishing the mission/purpose of the church. The vision is discovered as we submit to
Christ, listen to the Holy Spirit, and observe where God is working. While the mission doesnt
change, the vision is always open to change as the Lord leads.
Why does Amite Baptist Church need a common vision?
1. Increase ____________ and Reduce ________________.
2. Attract ___________________.
3. Allows ______________ or ______________.
4. Assists _______________________.

Long Vision Statement: God wants us to focus on following our Father where He is
leading and working, to intentionally cultivate discipleship relationships for spiritual
growth, to restore and equip all homes to be the God honoring institution He created,
and to engage and build integrity with others as a witness for Jesus.

Short Vision Statement: Advance the Kingdom of Jesus in me, my home, and the world.
1. In me = me@Jesus (passionately follow Jesus)
2. my home = home@Jesus (selflessly love others)
3. the world = world@Jesus (intentionally make disciples)
Motto: No ContactNo Impact

2. To accomplish Gods purpose, we need ______________________ who

can help everyone work toward the common vision.
Church Lead Team (CLT) serves as a Church Council acting as the voice of the Church. Its
membership is made up of representatives from all parts of the Church. It sets the vision and
direction of the whole Church body by providing guidance, coordination, accountability,
encouragement, and support for all Church ministries, Life Groups, Committees, and Teams. It
includes the called staff, ministry leaders, and representatives from Life Groups.
Life Group Lead Team (LGLT) does the same thing as the CLT except that they exist as a
smaller Church within the whole. Each LGLT sets the vision and direction for their Life Group and
provides planning, coordination, encouragement, implementation, and support.

The vision is prayerfully put together by a team of leaders.

The vision needs to be clear, defined, and communicated.

The vision needs to be planned and organized.

The vision needs to involve everyone.

3. To accomplish Gods purpose, we need _______________ workers who do

their part.

Willing to sacrifice?

Willing to cooperate and coordinate with one another?

Willing to complement and encourage each other?

Willing to work outside of their comfort zone and do the dirty jobs?
