Half-Celestial

No matter the form, half-celestials are always comely and delightful to the senses, having
golden skin, sparkling eyes, angelic wings, or some other sign of their higher nature. "HalfCelestial" is an inherited template that can be added to any living, corporeal creature with an
Intelligence score of 4 or higher and non-evil alignment (referred to hereafter as the base
creature).
Speed
A half-celestial has feathered wings and can fly at twice the base creatures base land speed
(good maneuverability). If the base creature has a better fly speed, use that instead.
Size and Type
The creatures type changes to outsider. Do not recalculate the creatures Hit Dice, base
attack bonus, or saves. Size is unchanged. Half-celestials are normally native outsiders.
Armor Class
Natural armor improves by +1 (this stacks with any natural armor bonus the base creature
has).

Special Attacks
A half-celestial retains all the special attacks of the base creature and also gains the following
special abilities as long as the half-celestial creature is considered in good standing with
their deity or the special would forward the deities plans or ideals.
Character level used as caster level.

Specials at 1st Level


Daylight (Su)
Half-celestials can use a daylight effect as the spell at will.
Detect Evil (Su)
Half-celestials can use Detect Evil as the spell at will.

Specials at 5th Level


Cure Serious Wounds

Half-celestials can use Cure Serious Wounds as the spell, up to 3 times a day.
Holy Smite (Su)
Half-celestials can use Holy Smite as the spell, up to 3 times a day.

Specials at 10th Level


Heal (Su)
Half-celestials can use Heal as the spell, up to 3 times a day.
Holy Aura (Su)
Half-celestials can use Holy Aura as the spell, up to 3 times a day.

Specials at 15th Level


Summon Couatl (Su)
Half-celestials can use Cure Serious Wounds as the spell, up to 3 times a day.
Resurrection (Su)
Half-celestials can use Resurrection as the spell, up to 1 time a week.

Specials at 20th Level


Optional Rule must be in play for these Specials. Half-Celestial must be in good
standing with their deity for these abilities to work correctly.
Any Cleric Spell (Su)
At 20th level Half-celestials can cast as the spell, any cleric spell at a cost of
1,000gp x the spell level as a part of the material component of the spell. This
is in addition to any regular material costs in gp. They may do this as many
times per day as they wish but each additional use per day of this special
attack cost an additional 1,000gp in sacrificed wealth.
True Resurrection (Su)
Half-celestials can use True Resurrection as the spell, up to 1 time a week.

Special Qualities
A half-celestial has all the special qualities of the base creature, plus the following special
qualities.

Darkvision out to 60 feet.

Resistance to acid 10, cold 10, and electricity 10.

Damage reduction: 10/magic.

Immunity to disease.

+4 racial bonus on Fortitude saves against poison.

Abilities
May increase from the base creature as follows:

Any one ability score to a 16 (with a starting score no lower than 8).

Any two ability scores +1, or a feat.

Challenge Rating
+3 Level CR
Alignment
Always good (any).
Level Adjustment
Same as base creature +3.

Special Attack Requirements (Optional Rule)


A half-celestial is required to meet special sacrifices to be allowed to receive his or her
special attacks. She has no requirement up to fourth level. At fourth level she receives the
spells Hallow, Shrine and Dedicate.

Dedication Prayer

To remain in good standing half-celestials are required to sacrifice items, gold, gems and
other valuables as well as their services when called upon. Their requirements are:

A Tithe of 10% of all new wealth to the half-celestial in any form.

An Offering of his Current Level in thousands in the form of items, gold gems or
other valuables, before he can acquire a new level. To sacrifice double, triple or more
than this amount is considered a more holy sacrifice and should be considered if the
Half-Celestial is attempting to atone for sins. (for example: to move from 4 th level to
5th level, the Half-Celestial must have sacrificed at least 4,000gp previously)

A Sacrifice to the deity gains favor with her divine wholeness. The sacrifice comes in
the form of items, gold, gems and other valuables. The favor comes in the form of a
credit to a Sacrifice account reserved in the name of the Half-Celestial in direct
proportion to the value of the sacrificed item(s) in gp. This account is used for gp
cost of material components of his special attacks.

Tithes and Offerings never add to the Sacrifice account.

To make a sacrifice, this must be done using the Dedication Prayer at a Shrine that has been
dedicated to the deity.

Any shrine to the deity will work, whether temporary or permanent. Shrines can be created
on the spot, but do cost Sacrificed favor due to the casting of the Hallow and Shrine spells.

Hallow

The cost of the Hallow spell listed in the book is in an area that is considered
controlled by the deity such as a domicile of the Half-Celestial or land owned by the
Half-Celestial or other ally who has verbally or openly acknowledged a willingness to
allow the Hallow and/or Shrine. This is for a permanent Hallowed area, until it is
dispelled.

If the land is considered neutral, the Hallow spell costs 5x as much. If the land is
considered enemy territory the spell is 10x as much.

If only a temporary Hallowed area is desired, the cost is as per the book, regardless of
who owns the territory. This spell takes 24 hours to cast, and lasts 1 hour per level
of the Half-Celestial.

Shrine

Casting the Shrine spell must be done in a Hallowed area. The material cost for the
spell is 5,000gp. It takes one hour to cast a Shrine spell. The material components
are the material cost, and an object or collection of objects; such as a stack of stones,
a tree; something that is unique and associated with the surrounding area and
hopefully associated to the deity in a direct or mysterious way.

The one hour casting time is actually a litany of prayer, song, and/or whatever the
Half-Celestial desires to communicate as a dedication of the Shrine to their Deity. It
can be abbreviated but should be considered heartfelt to the soul. It is not a time to
contemplate, consider or converse regarding ones own problems and issues.

Dedication Prayer

Casting the Dedication Prayer spell must be done at a Shrine. There is no material
cost for the spell. It takes 1 to 10 minutes to cast the spell. If a sacrifice is to be
made place the objects to be sacrificed near the Shrine or on the Altar.
