This position reports directly to the Debt Collections Manager and is 85% field-based with 15%

in office
PURPOSE OF TTHE POSITION
Ensure quality loan portfolio for VFU
Ensure prompt collections on written off portfolio in the assigned VFUs branches

Ensure that loan loss provision is kept below acceptable margin in the branches assigned

Collect and coordinated asset disposals from debtors

Keep track of documentation of all actions taken to collect from bad debts

Coordinate and monitor activities of external debt collectors in liaison with branch
managers and Debt Collections Supervisor

Advise the debt collections Manager on suitable strategies of bad debt collection

Work hand in hand with credit officers for timely collections on loans disbursed.

Prepare monthly reports showing the progress on loan appraisal, monitoring and recovery
processes, clearing showing areas that require improvement.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND OUTPUTS


Ensure prompt collections from loans under 60 days (70%)
Key tasks and outputs
PAR 1 day in the branches assigned should be under 3%
Maintain loan provisioning under acceptable margins.

Review daily reports on loans due for collections under 60 days and promptly recover all
due amounts.

Make monthly reports on irregularities discovered in the field with time bound action
points

Update register for confiscated assets and actioned report of the proceeds.

Ensure complete and adequate documentation for all collections processes (20%)
Key Task and output
Completeness of all loan transferred to debt collections unit showing track of steps taken
to collect funds outstanding.
Collect from all written off loans. Maintain the written ratio below 3%quality of the loan
portfolio of VFU within the zone/ region (5%)

Average written off ratio should be kept under 1.5% in the branches assigned.

Closely monitor delinquent loans and ensure that they dont cross to 180 days

Maintain a good rapport between delinquent customers and management (5%)

Good customer relationship management for delinquent customers

Must be a committed and trustworthy individual, able to stand above denominational
diversities
Must have riding skills with a valid riding permit
