WHO ARE WE?

We are KULeuven Hybrid Logistics, one of the teams who will participate in the
Ecorace Challenge. We are a team of 17 students, a mix of bachelor and master
students in industrial engineering at the KU LeuvenGroup T. Our team leader
is an international management student.

Group T is an innovative and international campus in Leuven, who is active in

Engineering, Enterprising and Educating. We learn independent, creative and
innovative thinking, working in a team and entrepreneurship.

WHAT IS ECORACE-CHALLENGE?
The Ecorace Challenge is a competition organised by De Scheepvaart nv
and Waterwegen en Zeekanaal nv, 2 belgian waterway authorities using this
competition to promote the use of inland waterways.

The Ecorace-Challenge is a competition for college students, who are challenged

to build an ecological boat which has to prove its efficiency by completing
different challenges. The participating teams are stimulated to develop within
different domains: engineering, management and entrepreneurship. We have
to create a business plan about our project which we will defend in front of a
panel of judges.

WHY DO WE PARTICIPATE?
We are 17 inspired students who like to take a challenge and like to construct
and find innovative solutions. Group T gave us the opportunity to take part in
this challenging event.
The project includes engineering, management and entrepreneurship. The
teams need to create and propose their business plan to a jury of experts
and entrepreneurs. This part of the project associates well to our course of
management.
Our industry needs
an alternative form of
transport. That is the
reason the Eco- raceChallenge wants to
promote the fluvial
transport.
We want to showcase our fresh and innovative ideas. We mostly want to show
technologies who are relevant to our industry and make them comprehend that
they can gain a lot out of this project.
Our project is based on the watertruckplus system. It is a combination of
standardized barges and eco-friendly push-boats. The barges are designed to
transport different sorts of cargo
