A) Theme: Help in Time of War
B) Reading: "Now I know the Lord gives victory to his anointed. He will answer him from
the holy heavens with a strong arm that brings victory. Some rely on chariots, others on
horses, but we on the name of the Lord our God. They collapse and fall, but we stand
strong and firm. Lord, grant victory to the king; answer when we call upon you." Psalm
20:7-10 (NABRE)
C) Reflection: When people are fighting in war, we hope that they will find help and
comfort. Some seek those feelings from God and rely on Him. God will answer them
from the holy heavens and bring them victory. When soldiers cry out to God for help He
will answer them and grant victory to them. These verses show that in times of trouble
when you call out to God and believe in Him, He will be there to help you no matter
what.
D) Prayer:
Lord help us to find You
Even in times of conflict.
When losing a battle,
Or contemplating a decision
Help us to believe in You,
So that when we are in need,
We can seek You,
And You can bring us strength and comfort.
Help us to rely on You
So that we will have no doubts,
And know You will bring us victory,
In times of trouble and in war
Lord, we thank You, Amen
