The Master must ensure that fully documented applications for Certificates of Competence are
submitted immediately. Those officers cited above must be issued certificates of rank, a CRA or valid
Urgent Authorization within thirty days from receipt of this citation, or be replaced by an officer holding a
valid Officers Certificate for his assigned grade on board.
A re-inspection of your ship, to verify that full corrective action has been taken, may be held
within ninety days from the date of this inspection.
It is incumbent upon the Master to ensure that the above citation is complied with because a fine
of US$750.00 in accordance with Maritime Act Section 109(4) is being imposed for each officer in
violation which may be remitted if corrective action is taken within the prescribed time.
