[Project Title]
[How the practices of art can benefit students]
Group Members: single: Aliyah Annis
Passion/Learning Opportunity: (Which passion is your project helping your pursue?
What do you expect to learn from this project?)

My Spring 20% project is revolving around two specific categories of art, which are
photography and sketching. I have had a passion and unique eye for arts since I was a toddler,
and this project therefore helps pursue that passion. This passion contributed to my topic choice
in a 20% project. I have many expectations for this project, and I am setting higher standards in
performance to this project due to the fact that I have had past experiences in creating a 20%
project and presentation. I expect to learn and expand my knowledge regarding the sociological
and mental sides of art just as much as the physical sides. Some of the mental sides of art that I
would like to learn about are the reasons why an individual may turn to art as a form of self
expression and emotional release. I also expect to learn many techniques and skills that
contribute to my current skills in art as well. Lastly, I hope to develop more knowledge on how to
efficiently present a presentation with a clearly stated main idea through the process of this
project.
Needs/Opportunities: (Why is your project worthwhile? Is it solving a problem that
currently exists? If so, how?)

I believe my project is very worthwhile considering the fact that I am attempting to learn more
about artistic topics that have the power to benefit people of all ages and groups. For example,
art could be considered as an alternative to negative thoughts and/or actions, a release for
countless emotions, expression, communication, empowerment, etc. I hope that this project
opens the eyes of many people who need an alternative source for whatever reason they may

need it. That is why I consider my project worthwhile. I believe it is helping to solve countless
problems among the youth population not only in my school, but all over the world.
Audience/Client/Users: (Who will benefit from your project? How?)

Literally anyone would be able to benefit from my project, however my main priority is for this
project to benefit the lives of teens. I believe that teens (and everyone else as well), will benefit
from this project by learning about an alternative source that relieves stress, expresses emotion,
has the power to communicate and mentally/emotionally grip an audience of others, etc. By
learning about this, some people may develop an interest in art; whichever type of art it is.
Creating an interest helps individuals keep priorities straight and busy. I will also benefit
knowing that I have somehow made an impact on a persons life.

Product: (What is the final product or goal that you will be creating/accomplishing?)

Aliyah Annis3

I have many different goals that I hope to potentially create and accomplish during the process
of this 20% Project and presentation. I hope to introduce and educate others on the importance
of the arts and its impact on a persons mind; whether it is an emotional release, an alternative
source, a way of communication, etc. I also hope to impress not only my instructor but my
classmates as well with the work that I have completed over the time process of a few months.
Another goal of mine is to be completely comfortable and happy with both the amount and
quality of work completed for my 20% project.
Needs/Possible Issues: (What do you need to accomplish this project? What problems or
issues do you foresee that might cause you difficulty or challenge you?)
In order to accomplish this product, I will need a variety of things. However, they do not all come
in the physical form. For example, in order to complete this project, I will be required to have the
determination and willpower in order to complete the project as efficiently as possible. I will also
have to have the patience to sit down and create forms of art that I am proud and comfortable
with. I will also need sketch paper, good pencils, and whatever art supplies I may need. I will
also need a camera as well to complete the photography side of this project. However, the
problem that I foresee for the future is procrastination.
Conclusion: (Wrap up your thoughts and inspire us! Why should we be enthusiastic
about your project?)

I believe others should be very enthusiastic about this project due to the fact that it not only puts
my art skills to the test, but it also goes deeper into the variety of different reasons on why
people have used art since the beginning of time. Most importantly, my project works on
benefiting the lives of teens everywhere by introducing art and its physical and mental benefits.
