Fall & Spring Internships
Camp AdventureTM Child and Youth Services is a service-learning
program headquartered at the University of Northern Iowa. The
Camp AdventureTM program is comprised of a number of caring,
committed, and competent individuals dedicated in their service to
children and youth. Camp AdventureTM provides a wide array
of opportunities to serve children and youth, integrate theory with practice, develop new
knowledge, skills and competencies as well as to be a part of a worthwhile endeavor.
Camp AdventureTM provides semester long internship opportunities for the fall and spring!
Internships are available working with Child Development Centers and School-Age Care
programs on U.S. military basses in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Bahrain, Hawaii and Key
West. Student Interns will provide needed support to families as military troops are moved
in and out of deployed regions. Students are engaged in experience working with children
and youth, while networking with the world's largest employer, the Department of Defense.

Participation Dates
Fall: August- December
Spring: January-May

Length of program
17 weeks for full programs
10-12 weeks for A and B programs (locations are limited)

Benefits
Airfare and housing are paid
Living stipend of $25 a day
12 credit hours of university undergraduate or graduate credit at a reduced rate of $576
(Should students have any student loans, continued course enrollment may allow them to
defer it.)

Minimum Requirements

US Citizen

Minimum 2.6 GPA

Completed at least 2 whole semesters of college at the time of application

Cleared background check.


Thorough federal and state background checks will be conducted. If these checks reveal unfavorable
information, applicant may not be eligible to participate (due to military regulations).

Previous experience working with children/youth in a professional setting (example: afterschool enrichment programs, preschool, day care facilities, summer camps)
