CHAPTER I (INTRODUCTION)

A. BACKGROUND
People see a world out of reflection of their own fears. They see their greatest fear
inside them and they wanted to do the right thing, but theyre not sure what is it.
Im focusing in the small scale, which is Indonesia, Im very concern with things
that struck Indonesia for the past year, its seems that we need a role model to start
the change, and here I am. We could see now over the last 15 years some of the
enormous foundation has been able to make a change in the life of at least 2.7
million poor in Africa.
Africa has been receiving many donations from every charity foundation from the
entire world. So instead of spending a lot of money in helping other country why
dont we start from our country? Based on the slowing economic growth in
Indonesia, about 1.1 million more people from 26 different provinces became
newly poor and the amount of people that is in absolute poverty is now reaching
28.2 million and increase 2.8 every year if we dont do something about it.
The thought of me changing and helping others had been on the back of my mind
for several years. It all started back in the primary school, the year was 2012.
Creating an exhibition project and doing a research about education in Indonesia
was a turning point on my life, witnessing children suffers makes me think why?
They know thousands of souls are dying every second, but why dont they take
action of it, and these are the problem we face today.
So basically what am I? Id like to define my self as a founder (charity trustee) or
as a volunteer and a activist, I often imagine myself being a person that could
bring a big change in the life of those who need, being appreciated, a giver of
good vibe. Which is something that Im not. But that could change and it starts
now.

Charity foundations are spreading real fast in helping the life of many people
around the world. I wanted to create a place where I can express myself and find
who I am inside, where I can proof something to the world and not just seen as a
regular girl anymore. I might only be one person but in that Im not alone, maybe
at first it is only a small group of people who had the same thought as I did, and
ready to take the risk but that could lead to a good start and creating a foundation
is just only the beginning.
Above from all the reason that I have mention theres one main reason, why I
wanted to create some sort of action against poverty, and a fund raising charity is
because I wanted to bringing Indonesia to its glory time, and equality.
The world is not perfect
But if this writing provides a chances for all of us to unite and make a change
And its a chance were taking

CHAPTER II (DISCUSSION)
.

From Zero To Hero

There are many interesting profession that life had offer you, many careers pay a
hefty wedge of cash, but its unlikely that employees go home at night and feeling
that theyve made a positive impact around them. In this ever more cynical world,
how many people can honestly say that they enjoys their working day because
they know theyre helping people?
I found working with charity foundation challenging and fun even though I
havent been in one yet. But seeing those brave volunteers on TV moves my heart.
There are a lot of things that most charities offer.
But why working with charity?
Helping others takes countless forms. Working within this area should provide
you within valuable skills that you can use when you come to look for the
following role you wanted to choose in the future. But for now I have no specific
goals which I should achieve or do so, because being a volunteers doesnt need
some special training like other profession need, there is no special school that I
should go so I can be a professional volunteer, everything that I learn are basically
useful if I could use it well. So my duty for now and further is to work and study
hard, so that I could give more.
Entering collage is the time for me to take this plan seriously; its the most
valuable time for me to enter some organization and stuff because its the time to
get real. For freshman year maybe part-time unpaid internship is a good head
start, I wont be earning a bucket load of cash, but it will get me on the first rung
of ladder which to expand my knowledge about how is it to work for charity. If
Im thinking to change career, or Im feeling lack of experience within a particular
area, its about finding your passion so its okay, as long as you are prepared to do

a little pro bono work, pro bono is like offering free services for the public good
and its a good thing to do for young volunteers.
What makes it different and harder to run a charity is because the charity work
needs passion, commitment and dedication, as well as the willingness to get the
job done, no matter what it takes? But its also one of the most rewarding sectors
of all to work in.
There are many incredible women who started off their carrier for charity. Karlie
Kloss, the face of Swarovski and LOreal and a fashion icon had began Kode With
Klossy scholarship at age 21, she decided to tag along with a friend to a coding
class, Coding is a term which makes it possible for us to create computer
software, apps and websites or computer programing the process of designing,
writing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the source code of computer
programs.
She had been studying programming
languages on her own but hoped the
class would improve her skills. Once
she started, she was hooked.
"It just kind of clicked for me," she
says of her first class. "If I had a day off work, I would code. I'd take more classes.
I had this amazing teacher at the Flatiron School who had this incredible approach
to teaching," she beams. "That's why I think it clicked for me and made me want
to share my experience. [Kode With Klossy] is really quite new but because of
the donation that Marc is supporting, we're actually going to make it much
bigger."
This year, Kode scholarships were granted to girls around the United States. Over
600 applied. "It was so hard to turn girls down," she admits. "Everyone was really
good at their area of interest. Beside Kode With Klossy, the 23 years old

supermodel also took part on the FEED Projects that was created by United
Nations World Food Program on 2007. FEED Projects sells FEED bags and a
portion of each bag is donated to the United Nations World Food Program to feed
children around the world. She created gluten-free cookie business as a part of the
project, Karlies Kookies has donated over 650,000 cookies for school lunches.
Most celebrities I know have one or more charities that they passionately believed
in. they are narrowing the number of charities that they support, thats why we
need to be extremely creative on doing our campaign and project, because if they
getting seriously involved with those charity they do support.

B. Ray of sunshine
Ray of Sunshine, It is actually a phrase that people use to define a person who
brings happiness into the lives of others. Which mean, hopes it self, inspiring
faith, contributing believes and considering goodwill, it is also one of the greatest
charity foundation based in England, they grant wishes for children that suffer
serious health problem.
Charity foundation is a very uncommon organization in Indonesia, as we know
that Indonesia was heading towards economic crisis, with its inflation, widespread
bankrupt, loss of job and even lost half of its currency value within time-span of
five days only as the effect of economic crisis Beggars are common, and are
visible wherever you go. I wanted to create a subdivision of Ray of sunshine that
is based in Indonesia, as if the ray of sunshine only works and help among
children we developed the mission even more so we could reach out victims from
every places in Indonesia without a certain boundary of age.
We create enormous project to help, starting from action, campaign, collaboration,
making brand, and others. With us you could help, lend a hand for those who
need. You will have the opportunity to see life in a different perspective.
We use our voice for kindness
We use our ear to concern their thoughts
Our mind to deliberate the truth
And hand for charity
The issue were facing it selves are not easy and classified by category such as
disaster relief, education, environment, Human Rights, Hunger and poverty. We
are divided into several main teams to help us work well on giving services to the
community, were not only giving them material but we also provides experts in
many skills to help them with their struggles. I am serving myself as charity
trustees, a person who forms the governing body of the charity. Trustees are
responsible for controlling the management and administration of a charity. The

great majority of trustees serves as volunteers and receives no payment; I should

work together as a team with my fellow volunteers and have collective
responsibility for our charity.
We brought a mission in ourselves, which is to fight every minutes of everyday to
finish what we started and achieve our vision of Indonesia without poverty, also
involving our country in the fight to end hunger and create lasting solution to
social injustice. We will require everyone to work together it takes more then just
a teamwork to accomplish our common goals, forming Indonesia to a better living
and pledge to leave no one behind. Im willing to inspire people, it would be great
if someone look a you and say because of you I didnt give up because if your
action inspire others to do so and dream more, it makes you learn more, do more
and become more.
We are going to need every ear on the ground to listen every single voices of
individuals and families victim that had experience the tough time of their lives.
This thing could help us gain as many data as we could to help us respond surely
towards the victims. Victims as we know are the results of choice, choices that
made in our community, society, and most of all our government, we know that
the right choices can make a difference in the lives of millions, because we have
seen it and these right choice is the key, the hope to drive positive changes.
Being able to have a strong correlation with government agencies is also the key
of success, because as we see government seems very unconcerned with the
citizen condition, but community and government are taking a big part in this
ever-lasting change. So it would be easy if we have alliance with the government.

We will also involve these famous people to take part in our action and work as
our ambassadors, the Ray of Sunshine ambassadors are people that work in the
entertainment and fashion industry including film, television and music. They
serve asX a role model in raising people awareness using their talent and fame to
fundraise and advocate on behalf of the Ray Of Sunshine.
Many people couldnt get the right to go to school, to have a better education and
even the right to live equally as the others, the government and other had been
working really hard to make Indonesia a better living but if we dont start with
people around us, then whats the point of change. The education background is
really taking a big role as particular influential. School is the first place where
young people introduce to fundraising or volunteering opportunities, if we level
up the education in Indonesia, we have save at least one generation in the future,
the sooner we educate this kid about the word awareness the better.
As a charity trustee having a quick change on static income wouldnt affect much.
You arent paid for your time as a volunteer, but you may get money to cover
expenses. This is usually limited to food, drink, travel or any equipment you need
to buy. You might be classed as an employee or worker rather than a volunteer if
you get any other payment. This includes any promise of a contract or paid work
in the future.

C. It Starts Now

Based on the analysis of the charity commission show that young people, defined
as 18-14 years old, represent 0.5% of the trustee population across England and
Wales. How about Indonesia? I believe anything could happened and there is
evidence to show that young people can make positive contribution to the charity
development in Indonesia. Small good deeds that we do could led us to a great
path and so do charity, you could see now many young people with their action
box asking for donation as a part of their charity. Believe it or not the society
around you is the small scale of charity in life, School offers many charity
opportunities, you could start a small garage sale as a part of fundraising with
your class mate, rather than throwing away your old thing you could collect them
and re-sell it, then donate the money to a charity organization near you, see its not
really hard to do good things, you just need to seek the right moment
When considering on helping the world, many people conclude that there is
nothing we can do to save it. The scale of poverty and other issue is enormous and
we seem powerless to stop it. It starts from yourself, whether you wanted to drive
a positive change is up to you. We could end it all right now we could end
poverty, hunger, violence, world crisis, we just need to start now, that all it takes.
Sometimes it is easy to forget just how many people there are in the world, and
how powerful our pocket change can become when assembled together. the size
of your donation directly correlates with the number of people you are able to
help, you don't have to be a millionaire to make a significant difference we cant
help everyone but everyone can help someone even small donations have the
potential to drastically improve an individual's quality of life.
If you cant feed a hundred people,
then feed just one
-Mother Teresa-

CHAPTER III (CLOSING)

A. CONCLUSION
So if this dream really meant for me, I would really care and work hard for it.
good charity should be ensuring that what and how hey communicate and act are
both engaging and creative, by using newer method such as.., it also need to
demonstrate clearly the benefits for society. Giving is a small action that had a
huge impact to the world, Giving brings us closer to creating the world we would
want to live in, Giving is a question of justice. And giving is all we need Giving
lets us work toward building a better worldone that's safer, healthier, more
stable, and happier for all of us, lend a hand and take a part of our action.
For people born in a developing country, the chances that their hard work will pay
off are greatly rare. They may not be able to work due to an illness for which they
can't afford the treatment, there may not be any work available, they may not have
the education required for a job that pays a living salary the list goes on. This
means that people in developing countries are very often at an unfair disadvantage
compared to others around the world. Children have no say over where they live
or whether they receive an education. Struggling families may take their children
out of school so they may contribute more immediately to the family income. This
contributes to a cycle of poverty that traps people who may be extraordinarily
smart and hard-working, yet beholden to circumstances over which they have no
control. Giving to organizations which help people in extreme poverty is
essentially a matter of fairness. Once we accept that varying circumstances lead to
drastically uneven economic outcomes throughout the world, we must also
recognize that we have an obligation to help those born into the cycle of poverty.
