Letter to President Clinton

Dear Hashoo Foundation USA Friends and Supporters,

I recently traveled to the flood affected-areas in Pakistan with
members of the Hashoo Foundation (HF) team. I was there for 20
days visiting the various flood relief camps, health units and
schools. Women, men, boys and girls of all ages struggle to
survive and live a dignified life. It is heart breaking to see the
eyes of the children who are sick and dehydrated from drinking
flood contaminated water, lack of nutritious meals, and loss of
their shelter. There is so much we take for granted, a smile, a
glass of water, even the soft touch of a teddy bearI feel very
privileged to have shared time with the affected families, who
even under these distressed living conditions, hope to move
forward and begin life anew.
I would like to share with you brief videos and pictures I captured
during my trip. The images reflect how Hashoo Foundation's
relief efforts are giving hope and improving the lives of the people
living in these flood-displaced communities.
On behalf of the Hashoo Foundation, I am very grateful to our
partners in the United States, Pakistan and the United Kingdom
for their generous response during these difficult economic times,
and for their support towards the Foundations work in
Pakistan. Their generosity and valuable contributions have
provided much needed humanitarian aid and have touched the
lives of thousands of people in Pakistan:

Thank you to our partners in the

United States, Pakistan and the

United Kingdom for their prayers

and valuable contribution to the
people of Pakistan during this
critical times:

This is a crucial time for not only the Pakistani nation, but the
entire world. Why? Because the gradual loss of global support
and recovery aid in Pakistan can lead to extremist groups
stepping in and providing the needed assistance and winning

loyalty and approval of the millions who are embarking on a very

difficult and daunting road to recovery. Some believe there is a
risk that this disaster may further destabilize Pakistans already
fragile democracy to a point that jeopardizes the security of the
rest of the world.
We must continue to do our part to help the people of Pakistan
who are suffering in a catastrophe of this magnitude. Hashoo
Foundation plans to be actively involved in the continuous
recovery, rehabilitation and rebuilding process of the affected
areas.
I urge you to continue supporting the Hashoo Foundations efforts
to provide hope and humanitarian relief to the women, men and
children displaced by the floods in Pakistan.
Sincerely,
Cristal
