The decision to relocate has been an enormous event in our
lives, the brunt of this being mainly placed upon Andrew,
deciding to sell the family property where a Steele Caldwell in
every generation has resided since 1836.
But the world still goes on. As a direct result of this massive
decision, WYONA ALPACA STUD is having to drastically
downsize our herd from 150+/- to under 50 head.
With the FULL SPRECTRUM SALE in 2014 assisting us to
consolidate and fine tune our coloured breeding herd, the
alpacas retained in our herd since then have gone on to
produce many more elite prize winning progeny.
This WYONA HERD REDUCTION Catalogue is full to the brim
of high quality alpacas that have proven their ability to
reproduce this quality in fleece, frame and temperament, time
and time again or are a result of it.

breeding programme for reasons of their high quality breeding traits. This solid dark brown lady is correct in
conformation, well grown with great depth of ribcage & exceptional strength of bone throughout her frame.
Her temperament is incredibly gentle and she has conceived easily & early, raising all her cria to weaning
with high growth weights and excellent milk supply. She is producing a distinct, medium style of crimp with
a deeper amplitude. Without exception, all the BG Waterloo Sunset dams have great density and pass this
onto their progeny. "Dark Water" is just starting to display some light coloured fibres throughout her fleece,

Norma Jean is genetically a very fine female, who is continuing to produce a very fine commercial
fleece. Her dam, P. Tabitha was still producing a very soft handling fleece at 17 years of age, testing at
just over 25 micron and with a comfort factor of over 70%. Norma Jeans sire, C Nostradamus is known
for producing extremely fine fleeces in his progeny, and has been used within our herd to instill this
trait.
Well grown for her age, Norma Jean has correct conformation, and good point coverage. Light fibres
are apparent within her fleece, tending her to the colouring of Roan, and with both of her parents
displaying heavy roaning characteristics later into their age this comes as no surprise. Norma Jean
would be suited to join a coloured breeding herd striving to produce genetically fine brown, roan or
black huacayas.

It is with seriously profound sadness that Wyona find itself in a position to have to offer
this unique and amazing absolutely true black female for sale. We are downsizing.
I will begin with her pedigree, sired by Distinction Spock, a male bred by our partnered
stud with all the Wyona genetics seconded into it. This male won repeatedly over
numerous years across the Australian show scene. A magnificent true blue black male
whose progeny won countless championships as well as Sires Progeny Group classes.
Many of his progeny now reside overseas, either as elite breeding females or Stud Sires.
UHURAS dam, W. Beyonce was another multiple blue ribbon winner often to
Championship level. Her dam was one of the best solid true black females we bred from
our much loved Peruvian imported sire JOLIMONT CENTAURI.
UHURA is profoundly black! You will see this in her incredibly black pedigree. With
both Sire & Dam, all 4 grandparents & 5 out of the known 6 great grandparents ALL
SOLID TRUE BLACK, this surely places UHURA in an elite group. Wyona has bred true
black to true black for over 25 years, it is these Pearls in our black breeding

result of her immense density and exceptionally low micron, having never reached over 24 micron, even at over
12 years of age.

While no longer producing great staple length, her comfort factor of 85% at 13 years of age is still very
respectable. Meekas progeny regurlarly return fleece stats under 20 micron on their first fleeces &
often hold their fineness as they mature.
A solid statured female, Meeka has a very strong square frame and has a pleasant eye-catching
appearance. She has gentle nature and has been well handled all her life.
An easy female to own and breed, Meeka would be ideal in a grey breeding herd, especially for those
seeking ease and reliability in reproduction from their females.

Charade has been a much anticipated cria. After her brother Design Cortez began to make waves for
himself in the showring last year with his extreme substance of bone and exceptional coverage, there was
no doubt in my mind I had to repeat the mating and get the same as him in female form. Not one to
disappoint, her dam, Design Magenta came through with the order.
Holding a strong substance of bone, with great size for age and a strong and correct frame, Charade is
maturing beautifully. In time, Charade will most certainly grow into a medium framed female.
Her first fleece stats are respectable for a cria, and I expect they should improve before her second
shearing. She produces an exquititely lusterous fleece, with long staple length. Her fleece is a medium
frequency, medium amplitude style fleece, well defined and even across her frame.
This young lass has a most incredible pedigree, stemming from BG Waterloo Sunset, Jolimont Antares,
Brooklea Ridge Callahan & Jolimont Cassiano to name but a few. With a striking amount of colour in her
ancestory, this girl is sure to produce colour.

A veteran in her own right, Concubine has proved she can still do it, time after time, Concubine
conceives very easily, births without assistance & raises her progeny to weaning with ease. She is
holding her weight very well for a female of her age, who still continually produces progeny.
In the past, Concubine has proven her ability to produce both Solid True Black & stunning Mid Silver
greys. Her daughter, Design Messines was sold to New Zealand after having been very successful in the
show ring, and has gone on to produce a stunning young Grey male, who will soon be standing at stud
in NZ.
Concubine has a very strong frame, with excellent depth and correct conformation. She consistently
produces this in her progeny. Heavy substance of bone, correct conformation, excellent coverage and
fleece lengths are pronounced in each and every one of her progeny. A proud upstanding female, with
a gentle and kind nature.
