Dear hiring team,
I am interested in applying for a high school teaching position. I am a Bachelor of
Education 2017 graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island, and I have student teaching
experience in the 10th and 11th grades so far.
My practicum began last October and it was a positive experience for me. I was able to
use this opportunity to practice many of the skills I have learned from attending the UPEI BEd.
program. Specifically, I have practice in adapting lessons to help struggling students as well as
creating and teaching lesson and unit plans. Additionally, I have experience in using formative
and summative assessments with students and training in effective classroom management.
Moreover, I have training in English as an Additional Language, Differentiated Instruction,
Inclusive Education, Global Citizenship, and Reconciliation. In February I will be participating
in another practicum experience where I will be able to further expand on these skills and more.
It is my goal to combine my teaching experience with my ability to be an enthusiastic,
creative, and warmhearted teacher who will be a supportive colleague in your schools. I would
