Beef Mami is a type of Beef Noodle soup of Filipino-Chinese origin. This is simply composed of tender beef brisket and
egg noodles, boiled eggs, and other toppings which are soaked in a hot and flavorful beef stock.
Beef Mami is usually sold in eateries. These mini restaurants are locally refered to as Mamihan or Pares House. It is
a meal in itself, but it will be more delightful when eaten with Siopao. The beef mami recipe that we have here is more pf
the Filipino side in terms of flavor. If you want the taste to be somewhat oriental, you may a little soy sauce and sugar
(just like the Beef pares).
Ingredients
5 cups water
Instructions
3. Put-in the beef brisket and cook until the color of the outer part turns light brown
5. Pour-in the water and bring to a boil. Allow to boil until beef becomes tender
7. Place the cooked egg noodles and Chinese cabbage in a serving bowl
8. Pour the soup and beef brisket on the bowl with noodles then garnish with sliced boiled egg and green onions

Hi therei really love your websiteand started to learn cooking pinoy disheskeep on uploadingthanks
I think you missing ginger, beef stock, carrots, and sprouts for that recipe. I hope that some of this recipe
help.
Thanks for the suggestion sir. No need for beef stock since I used beef cube. This is actually my simple
beef mami recipe and as I mentioned in the post, I usually adopt our beef pares recipe when making a
more oriental style beef mami in which ginger and other ingredients (and spices) are included.
I understand that we all have different styles in doing this dish and I really appreciate your input. Have
good day.
Beef mami is always my dinner on my way back home. Fast food restaurants beef mami tastes good, but I
think this simple recipe is better that them.

Q: can I use my pressure cooker for this dish? I get off work late and most of the time my family is waiting for
me to cook dinner. Im hoping to cook this faster for my family. thanks BTW- I love ALL your recipes!
Marc, You definitely can use your pressure cooker to save some time.

On the beef pares, you used the pressure cooker to tenderize the beef with beef cube and water
before sauteing the beef brisket with garlic and onion. On this recipe though, can I use the
pressure cooker after sauteing the garlic, onions and beef brisket? Just add the beef cube, star
anise and water? Thanks!

Hi Kuya- can you use the crockpot or slow cooker for this recipe?
Im thinking about letting it cook all day while doing other things and then just adding the boiled eggs and
cabbage when beef soup is ready. I love your website!

I enjoyed watching your cooking videos, I learned cooking beef mami and beef pares through your site.
Thank you, youre a great help. Sometimes I tweak some of the ingredients like putting a little bit of sesame
seed oil for the beef stock. Its like fusing some other ingredients I learned from preparing other foreign
soup/noodle dishes. Its been working alright so far. Im not a great cook, Im just learning through watching
different cooking videos I browse through YouTube or any other food site. But when it comes to cooking
authentic Pinoy foods, Your site, IMO is still the best. Thanks again. Keep uploading!
