ENHANCING ACCESSIBILITY OF LAST MILE CONNECTIVITY FOR SELECTED
STATIONS OF DELHI MASS RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM : DELHI METRO
AIM
METHODOLOGY
The study aims to understand the first and last mile connectivity and its
relationship with a commuters choice of transit options for conceiving a
journey and its impact on public transport ridership.
I
Enhancing the accessibility of last mile connectivity around selected stations of
Delhi metro and also evolve sustainable solutions to ensure various last mile N
connectivity options in the selected case study.
OBJECTIVES T
The objectives of the study are as follows :-
R
1). To study the necessity of last mile connectivity in transit network.
2). To study the last mile connectivity around various metro stations of Delhi.
3). To identify the issues related to last mile connectivity at various stations.
O
4). To evaluate alternate last mile connectivity improvement scenario. To suggests
measures to improve existing last mile connectivity options.
5). To recommend guidelines for improving last mile connectivity and evolve an
D
approach for planning last mile connectivity.
SCOPE U
The study is research based for enhancing knowledge on the last mile
connectivity for mass transit and evolving an approach to last mile connectivity.
C
These study evolve an approach to improve last mile connectivity of metro
stations, which further results in the increase number of users walking to metro.
These research will further results in the improvement of existing modal split for
T
last mile connectivity to metro stations.
These research will further increase ridership of metro feeder transit, thus I
improve physical and financial performance.
LIMITATIONS O
The limitations of the study are as follows :-
1). The study will be limited to only few i.e.. 2 stations for establishing last mile
connectivity characteristics.
N
2). Due to time bound nature of the study, study will be limited to last mile
connectivity characteristics of access and egress modes from mass rapid transit
stations.
