of airplane-filled skies
is on the drawing board
for Evart. The towns Lo-

airport there teamed up
with a nationally known
air show promoter, Kurt
Schwab, to bring an air
show to Evart Sept. 8 and 9,
2018. They anticipate it will
become an annual event.
Theunick and Schwab
estimate the event could
draw between 30,000 and
50,000 to town for the week-
end and might have an eco-
nomic impact on the area
worth between $3 million
and $5 million. The two are
billing the event as a fun
and family friendly event.
People like to see the
old war birds and hear
the sounds from the other
types of planes, Schwab
said.
Schwab and Theunick
have dubbed the show
Wings Over Evart. They
are lining up a cast of
performers likely to in-
clude acts such as Smoke-
N-Thunder Jet Shows,
Jet Car and Truck, Kent
Pietsch with his Jelly Belly
Interstate, Patty Wagstaff
with her Extra along with
Scott (Scooter) Yoak with
his P51 Mustang.
Schwab is an old hand at
promoting air shows. He
has been involved with the
events since 1999 when he
began assisting shows at
various locations including
March Air Reserve Base
and Patrick Air Force Base.
In 2012, he started work-
ing in the air show sector
as a civilian. He currently
solicits sponsorships for an
array air show performers
and shows. Schwab said
the shows have a fun envi-
ronment for performers
and sponsors as well as for
the attendees.

background in aviation. He

and spoke with a 20-year-
old male who told him that
he saw the passenger door
open during the night and
closed it for them. Case

While performing a
traffic stop for speeding, of-
ficers found the 24-year-old
male driver to be operating
without a license. Officers
also found he had four out-
standing warrants. He was
issued an appearance cita-
tion for speeding and op-

of an employee who was
in the parking lot speak-
ing with a male subject
who was in earlier with a
fabricated story as to why
he needed to speak with
her. Officers spoke with
the woman who told them
she was fine and in no need
of any assistance. Case
closed.

that someone had dam-
aged and stolen some of
his property. The matter is
